I’ve thought really hard about the right words to describe my career. The only word that just keeps coming to mind is “thankful.” I’m thankful for the sport itself, for the many memories made on the court. I’m thankful for teammates who always had my back and wanted what is best for me every single day. I’m thankful for coaches who poured their everything into each group of girls, and just did it because they love us with their whole being. I’m thankful for family who has love and supported me for the last 10 years, day in and day out, without fail. I’m thankful for friends who became family, all because of a game called volleyball. Most of all, I’m so thankful for a school that has brought me the greatest gift of all, a close relationship with God. I’ve cried so many tears, but not tears of distraught or anger because it’s over or because we loss. I’ve cried tears of thankfulness. Tears that hurt so bad because my heart is bursting of gratitude for this opportunity the Lord blessed me with. An opportunity I never took for granted, and I am so glad that I didn’t.
