Tonight was so special!
I took my daughter and my friend Sara to Opening Night @balletedmonton

The dancers on stage were truly remarkable 🤍 what an incredible and gripping performance and choreography, just overflowing with emotion and passion. I teared up so many times and watched my friend of 9 years pad her tears dry quietly while my daughter watched the performance wide eyed from the edge of her seat.

Seeing my photographs of the dancers in print was such a proud moment. I pour my heart and soul into what I do and anyone who knows me knows this well. I know other artists can relate to this kind of joy.

As a single mother I have to prove myself over and fight much harder, so having shared this moment with my daughter and my friend Sara who throughout all these years been supporting me and my work was truly special.

Art is healing. Dance is healing and I know this with every bone in my body.

A full circle moment for me watching it at my universitys theatre as I‘ll be finishing my journalism degree this coming December.

After more than a decade of dedicating so much of my life to photography, I feel like I am just getting started
