Truth is, that is wrong. What people think is reality isn’t always what it seems on social media. Life is imperfect and pictures are a glimpse for a reason. Life is actually a mixture of hills and valleys to climb, slide on, fall down, and walk or run up. Honestly, my dogs have led me to a community of friends who are some of the most kind, generous, and caring people that I have ever known.

Many of them work in animal rescue and/or human mental health fields, are caregivers, some have chronic illnesses, some are caregivers with chronic illnesses, some are children of alcoholics & addicts, others are mothers and fathers whose children are grown, many have emotional support animals and therapy dogs, some have been in toxic family relationships and learned to spread their wings and build their own life with their fur babies, some are working hard every day and creating a well rounded working/protection dog to be proud of, some admit they have struggled with vices in the past and are moving forward with a new outlook thanks to their pets who gave them strength and confidence when they didn’t have any. Many of these people would give their last dollar to help an animal or someone else. That is A LOT in today’s world.

Most of all I want to tell these people and they know who they are, you make our days brighter and better! Your kind words and friendship mean the world to us. You are appreciated & loved. There have been times when someone checking in has made a 100% difference in my day, especially during Jon’s hospitalizations and during my surgeries. If you need reassurance or if you are looking for someone to talk to, someone who will listen, someone who is loyal, find a group of animal/dog lovers and you will find a true friend. 💗💚🫶🏼🐾

Being disabled is hard, but y’all make it better ❤️‍🩹 I am so grateful for the people I’ve bonded with either on IG or in person. I feel the love behind every “are you feeling better?” and every “I am here for you”.
