🦅💜 This week's Student Leader of the Week is Darrien Brown!

🥤 Presented by @913.nutrition, a proud supporter of Avila #StudentLeaders! Each week our LOTW's will receive a complimentary drink as we celebrate students who make a positive impact on campus and in the community.

A Sports Communications major from #KansasCity, Missouri, Darrien is a member of the #Classof2028 who leads with purpose, service, and a heart for others. While maintaining an impressive 3.57 GPA, he is making an impact through faith, mentorship, coaching, and community involvement ✨

When asked about his goals after graduation, Darrien shared that he hopes to "allow Christ's light to shine through me wherever He places me." His actions reflect that mission every day ✝️💜

Outside the classroom, Darrien volunteers with the @palkck,serving as a mentor and leader for youth in Kansas City's inner-city communities. Through encouragement, guidance, and faith based leadership, he strives to help shape the next generation 🌟🙏🏽
Darrien's impact extends beyond mentorship. He hosts daily Bible studies on TikTok Live, creating a space for spiritual growth, encouragement, and meaningful conversations centered on faith 📖✨

He is also passionate about developing young athletes through coaching. Darrien currently coaches a 6th-grade AAU basketball team with @hoopnationkc and will be coaching at KIPP Middle School this year, helping students build confidence, leadership, and teamwork both on and off the court 🏀🔥

In addition, Darrien works with @makingmoves_llc , demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to serving others in every area of his life 💪🚛

Darrien chose @avilauniversity because it was close to home and offered him the opportunity to pursue his education. What made him stay was the community, support, and love he found at #Avila 💜🏫
Whether he's mentoring youth, coaching athletes, leading Bible studies, balancing academics, or serving his community, Darrien exemplifies what it means to lead with integrity, compassion, faith, and purpose 🌟

We were able to bring back six carts of food 🥫🥦🍎, pack the Feed Your Friends Food Pantry, and completely stock our pantry shelves and refrigerator!
