close to 750 days of my life went into #418TheFilm!

750 days of living a life and doing things i had obsessively dreamt about.

750 days later, i just have gratitude.

and in one of those days, during one night, in between editing and not having slept properly for atleast an entire week, i wondered what all this is for, then i realised that i need to put my head down and push myself further and harder so that all those who’ve raised me, taught me, nurtured me, tolerated me can keep their head high knowing that all the appreciation i receive and all my achievements belong to them.

maybe that’s what this is all for.

i think of this as an interesting plot point that destiny had in store for me because i was editing and being one of the codirectors for a movie that was being made by people who were responsible for me wanting to be a filmmaker and the ones who taught me how to be one.

i remember going to the office and sitting behind Prashanth Sir and Ujwal Anna while they were editing KGF 2, and went to Kirtan Sir to ask him all the stupid doubts i was too scared to ask Prashanth Sir, to which he always patiently answered and made sure i understood. This process followed onto the sets of KGF and Salaar as well, where when i wasn’t shadowing Prashanth Sir, i would run behind my Kitty Sir to ask him to give me something to do or just run around behind him to figure out how things are done. That was my Film Institute, and i rate that higher than any other institution.

i still remember the day he watched one of the sequences in the film and he came and said, “you’ve cut this like poetry” and that’s all the validation i need. i’m still trying to put into words what that moment felt like, i don’t think i’ll be successful in finding words in a language too poor to understand what i feel.

I consider myself one of the luckiest few in the world that not just gets to be in such close quarters with someone a lot of people in the world look upto but also to be able to call that man, my mentor and my guide, not just for films but for the way i lead my life.

similarly, #418 was another semester in that institute, except this time, the responsibilities i was given was
