Got the absolute ✨best✨ surprise in the mail from the fantastically talented and super sweet @avis.bindery! I’m on cloud nine having a bind of one of my very own fics! She did an amazing job with all the details and I will treasure it forever! 💖 And as if that somehow hadn’t already blown my mind, she added a bind of @msalexwp’s Let’s Play Pretend, which is a favorite of mine 🌟 as well as a gorgeous journal for my better half ♥️

thank you so much for this happy mail that made my month!!!

Would you like to cancel your subscription to Daily Fun Fish Facts?

A closer look at the typeset for these magazine binds of Here’s to Looking at You by thechanchanman

Don’t miss my last post with a closer look at the covers of each bind.

I attempted to make the typeset look like National Geographic Kids magazines, as well. The most notable difference being their magazines are like 80% pictures with full color backgrounds. Shout out to everyone that talked me off of that ledge. My printer thanks you.

Some things I included:
🐢 A different ocean friend on each page that has a chapter start
🦑 Some are just the fish and some are in that classic National Geographic yellow circle
🐙 Each section break has a silhouette of a different fish
🐡 The bottom of each page is keeping track of how many fun fish facts you learn as you move throughout the typeset
🦀 Once the fun fish facts are introduced in the story, there are Fun Fish Fact bubbles that start to pop up in the typeset.
🪼 Each fun fish fact mentioned in the story is highlighted in the same color blue as the chapter headers.
🐠 There is a spread in the middle of the typeset with 50 Fun Fish Facts. All of the fish facts were found by me and I tortured everyone I spoke to that week with them.
🐳 Two coloring pages.
🐋 Two pages of fish related jokes, with 8 jokes total.
🦐 At the end, there is a Quiz with 15 questions to test your fish facts both added by me and included in the fic itself. Which I apparently didn’t photograph with the rest of the binds. Whoops.
🐬 The Table of Contents spread was pieced together by me and includes where to find the activity pages.

when I felt like I was an old cardigan by @barkatthemoon_ao3 🧶🧦🧣

this copy was bound for @badhairred hehe 🫶🏼

this fic. it is not an exaggeration to say it is one of the best things I’ve read this year (all of Cas’ works are sososo fantastic.)

with such an emphasis on knitwear, i decided to learn how to crochet to make a ~book cardigan~ !! in the end i did maybe half, and then my mom finished it off because i was too slow ✌🏼😗

not pictured: the handmade wool socks à la hope lupin (knitted by my grandmother!!!) that also got sent to tamara, because i love a theme lol. i also did the dust jacket illustration myself for this one woohoo (invisible string + sweaters + stars around his scars 👹)

shout out to my sisters in arms @avis.bindery and @kay.binds for the perfectly unhinged praise on the back cover 🙂‍↕️

🧶this fic is free to read on AO3🧶

Language Lessons by @msalexwp

Typeset: @avis.bindery
Front and back cover art: @greenlights33

This fic was really good. Remus is bad at sex (I don't believe it). Sirius can't keep a relationship. Gay crisis and sex lessons. 💃🏻

I've been meaning to finish this forever. I stumbled on some stunning art pieces a few days ago and finally finished the cover. I've decided I won't be laminating paperbacks anymore since there's a slight curve to the cover, although it's not too noticeable.

As always, this can be read free on ao3. Don't buy fanfiction 🗡️

Just a girl + her fav Dramione binds 🐍🖤
Guyssss, I have officially entered my bookbinding era! After obsessing over it all last year I finally started the process and asked for a printer for Christmas. I’m starting off slow and steady, enjoying the process and wanting to take my time to find my flow with the craft but I can’t wait to learn more and attempt my own version of some of the beautiful binds I have been obsessing over for years!!

A huge thank you in advance to @avis.bindery and @thetiesthatbind_ for not only gifting me such beautiful books that I hold near + dear to my heart but for also answering my 100 questions 🖤 You both inspire me so much and I can only hope to be half as talented as you! Another thank you to @ladybobbitt for also answering my millions of questions. Your talent is insane and you will forever be the blueprint to me 😂🖤

Lastly, shout out to @accio_fanfics for taking the plunge + starting this journey with me. I can’t wait for our facetime binding sessions together 👯‍♀️
