Back with my solo account! @avoidinyou played one of the bestest show ive ever seen them play last night at the @flamingoclubsoho . Seeing three females playing intricate grunge music was extremely punk and inspiring. I very often feel isolated in the scene as a female musician and I wanna push myself to play the guitar on stage because we need more female players. Thanks to Camille for being my number one inspiration and idole 💕

Also, Im too sick to go out again but if you have a the chance you check out @omertabandmusicverycool and @neuroplacid whom are both playing at the @deptfordjunctioncic tonight (organised by @onthemove_radio ) They’re also a big inspiration and influence to my art. X

I had the great privilege of recording many parts of Deerhoof’s forthcoming LP, “Divine Schism,” this past March, and it’s coming out October 2nd. You can hear the first single, “Sun Like It Hot,” on their Bandcamp.

This video takes an in-depth look at the drum recording for the session, with each mic soloed as it appears. Moves fast like a deer’s hoof!

Here are the mics used:

Kick Batter: Fostex M77RP
Kick Front: Shure KSM40
Snare Top: Elation KM201
Snare Bottom: Elation KM201
Hi-Hat: LOMO 19a4
Ride: LOMO 19a55
Rack Tom Top: Elation KM201
Rack Tom Bottom: Shure KSM141
Floor Tom: Elation KM201
Overhead: Altec “Coke Bottle” 21D
Stereo Room: Fostex M22RP
Mono Room: Schoeps CMC6 + M2S Capsule
