Marin County Athletic League (MCAL) Players of the Year Holly Hovey and Nate Greenberg have officially announced their collegiate commitments to continue their academic and athletic careers at the NCAA Division I level.
Hovey, who earned MCAL Girls Water Polo Player of the Year honors following a championship season with Archie Williams High School, has committed to Loyola Marymount University (LMU). During her tenure at Archie Williams, she led the team through the local league tournament to secure the MCAL title over Tamalpais and advanced the program into the CIF North Coast Section Division I postseason. She will join the LMU Lions women’s water polo program in the Golden Coast Conference following her senior year starting this fall.
Greenberg, named the MCAL Boys Water Polo Player of the Year, has committed to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Playing as a utility for Archie Williams High School and competing with the USA Water Polo National Team development pipeline, Greenberg helped lead the Falcons to an MCAL championship victory during his sophomore year while competing in high-level regional and national tournaments. He will join the UCLA Bruins men’s water polo program in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF).
Both student-athletes represent Archie Williams High School and will transition from northern California high school competition to top-tier D1 collegiate athletic programs in Los Angeles.
