FHSAA 4A Region 2 – Holloway Park BACK-TO-BACK State qualifiers for Boys AND Girls! Boys attacked the hills and beat many rival teams to claim a 3rd place finish in the Region out of 16 teams! @bbarnhart_jr1 fought for the lead and after a tough fight, finished as the runner-up in our Region! Our boys @jordan.velasquez7 and @chris_amador07 pushed across more local rivals to land medals as the 11th and 12th place finishers across all boys in 4A! Girls had a lot of pressure going into the race based on many race predictions on whether or not they would qualify for the State meet. Despite having the strongest 7 athlete average ever, the competition for girls runs very deep in our new 4A section. Even so, each girl fought until they collapsed at the finish line and squeezed out the final qualifying spot for an 8th place team finish!!! This is only the 3rd girl’s XC team in PRHS history to qualify for the state meet (last year being the 2nd). We can’t say enough good things about this amazing group of athletes who beat many of the odds and have dedicated themselves for so long to earn this honor. In 8 days, we get to compete with the best schools in the State of Florida in the largest (and often most competitive) section for Cross Country. On November 11th, this group will have their sendoff to Tallahassee. After that, we race our State Finals race hosted at Apalachee Regional Park on Friday November 12th! Don’t forget to congratulate any of the following team members on an amazing job well done!!!
