POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Meet the cast of PILGRIMAGE!

I’m so excited to introduce the wonderful actors joining us this November for our residency at

The for Global Performance and Politics at Georgetown University!

Leila Buck as Noor
Awesta Zarif as Maryam
Raghad Makhlouf as Nadia
Laura Zee as Sosan
Ruthie Bowles as Fatima

Bridgette and I are thrilled to be stepping back into the rehearsal room with this talented ensemble and our director, Shadi Ghaheri.

One of the joys of developing a new play is discovering things about the characters and their stories that we hadn’t seen before. I’m looking forward to seeing what these artists bring to PILGRIMAGE and where they take us.

A big thank you to The Lab for welcoming us and giving us the time and space to continue developing this work.

Can’t wait to get started!

Pilgrimage world premiere was a co-production between Golden Thread Productions and Z Space in the fall of 2025 in San Francisco.

5:30pm: Taqueria Condesa, 824 9th Ave.
Head to Taqueria Condesa to kick off your Theatre Night Out, where you can get reasonably priced yet delicious Mexican food (in Midtown?? Yes!). We're also a sucker for frozen margs, and you bet they've got 'em here!

7:00pm: Aftermath, A.R.T./NY Mezzanine Theatre, 502 W 53rd St.
Then head to A.R.T./NY Theaters to catch this new play by journalist and playwright, David Zax! In Aftermath, 28-year-old freelance journalist Josh Goldman has just survived a Taliban kidnapping in Afghanistan, and is recovering in his childhood home with this parents. As Josh struggles to reconnect with his family and make sense of what he's endured, we learn how the young journalist found the courage to take on his most dangerous assignment, and at what cost. This timely drama examines questions of moral responsibility, privilege, and sacrifice in the context of global political conflict and family ties. Directed by Colton Pometta!

8:45pm: Rise Bar, 859 9th Ave.
After the show, grab drinks at Rise Bar, an unpretentious, extremely fun gay bar in Hell's Kitchen!
