Three skies, three different moods.

Little studies exploring light bands moving across the sky… sunset warmth, northern glow, and quiet moonlit mountains.

The first piece was painted from a beautiful reference shared by my dear art friend @awgdesigns Amber. I’m grateful she allowed me to interpret her sky in watercolor❤️🥰

If you could spend an evening under one of these skies… which would you choose?

Some sad things: losing Mamaw, Hurricane Helene. And ending the year with a nasty case of Covid wasn’t on my bingo card, but this year with lots of Tico and lots of travel made me happy! #bye2024welcome2025

People who know me know my love for Costa Rica AND my retired work partner and forever friend, @thisisme_awg. She has taken up painting in retirement (and she’s really good at it!) For my birthday, she painted these for me. I was speechless and teary. I have added two of my own photos from when I visited these two places. How incredibly talented is she? And how lucky am I to call her friend? 🥹❤️🇨🇷 #ateamforever #talent #watercolorpainting

A guest, and amazing artist, just painted this beautiful watercolor of the Brightwaters Guesthouse! She was inspired to paint it, as a memory of her wedding, when she and her family and friends all stayed on our private compound. We love hosting wedding groups! Check out more of her art @awgdesigns

Now that #artnov2023 is almost over, here is an #artpromptlist for December to help keep your creative momentum moving forward. The art prompt for this list is #artdec23.

I realize that December is a very busy month for many of us and that we might not have time to create artwork as much as we would like. This list is here for when you do have a few moments to spare and wouldn't mind sharing with us all. If you can't post artwork, it would be greatly appreciated if you can take a few minutes to support anyone that does post.

Swipe to the second page for the rules as there aren't many. I just ask that you be respectful of everyone in your art posts and share this list if you like.

Join in at anytime. Feel free to post past artwork if it fits a prompt on the list. Create in any medium you prefer including mixed media and digital. Create as many or as few of the prompts as you wish. Use the hashtag on the list and let's support each other as we continue to stretch our art muscles! ❤️

Today my former work partner/office mate and fabulous forever friend, @thisisme_awg gave me an early birthday present of one of her paintings. A beautiful sugar skull painted on a dictionary page containing the entry for skull. She told me all about the significance of all the elements of the skull including waves because I love cruising and more. What a meaningful gift from such a special person. When you find friends like this, cherish them because she’s one of a kind!🥹❤️ #creativity #watercolor #sugarskull #foreverfriend
