I’ve waited my whole life for this moment and I’ll never stop thinking about it! I’m not easy to surprise and you still found a way!! I knew something special was happening, partly because you had a mic connected to your shirt when I came downstairs for breakfast 🧐🤣 that’s why I ran back upstairs and put on some more eyeshadow (LMAO) …because I then knew that day would be one to remember, but I didn’t know HOW… I remember pulling up to the park and wondering was it a boat, was it a flash-mob, is it an airplane…. (I was going through it) but as we walked up to the lake and I saw the rose petals begin to lead us and heard the harpist playing the main song from ‘the Notebook’ (which is one of my favorite movies 🥹) a feeling came over my body that I can’t even explain. You don’t just love me, you adore me, you KNOW me, you get me and you know how to make my heart flutter. You hear the things that I say and you always find a way to show me just how well you do. You continue to outdo yourself and it makes me excited for our future because I know it’s filled with intentional love. I said “Yes!!” Surrounded by friends and my family in New Orleans on FaceTime (which was another surprise I’m so thankful for) and there’s no place I’d rather be. I love you so much baby and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you!!! 🎉 Today I turn 49… and I’m learning it’s not about counting… it’s about becoming. 😌✨

But what I will count… is how far I’ve come.

💭 I’ve been wondering all week what I was going to post for my birthday… and today it came to me.

📘 Story time…

🎶 When I was in the 8th grade, I began to write songs.
I remixed “Superwoman” by Ms. Karen White, and that was one of the first moments I realized songwriting is in me.

⏩ Fast forward to this year… I reached out to @awhitebeats, a producer I know, back in January because I wanted to officially remix Superwoman and drop it on my birthday because that’s been a dream of mine since the 8th grade.

It didn’t come together the way I planned, but today, sitting in the nail salon… that song came on, and I whipped out my phone and pressed record.

🫰🏾 And just like that… it still happened.
Not how I imagined… but exactly how God allowed. 💫

👉🏾 Here’s something I’m learning:
📍 Sometimes your heart’s desire doesn’t show up the way you planned it…
but it still shows up.
