We need more places to just be Black and have FUN. 🤏🏾

That’s one of the reasons I’ve loved covering @poupcards, and I’m so excited to be back as a content partner this fall. 🥹

If you’ve never been, PO’ UP! Live is a Black-owned live game show where contestants can play the Workplace or College editions, with questions and conversations that actually reflect our experiences and culture. And whether you end up on stage or you’re screaming from your seat because you know the answer, the audience is part of the experience too. 😂

And THAT matters to me.

We talk a lot about Black excellence—our careers, businesses, degrees, promotions, accomplishments—and we should. But we also deserve spaces that celebrate Black joy. Black culture. Black friendship. Black competition. Black people gathering just because we can.

Especially during National Black Business Month, I want us to remember that supporting Black-owned businesses isn’t limited to buying a product. Buy the ticket. Bring your friends. Attend the event. Share the post. Put somebody else onto the business.

And when you’re shopping for your next game night, look at some of the Black-owned games helping create these moments too: @awkwardgames__ @brilliantorbs @spillitcardgame @whatsthehookgame @theurbantriviagame 🫶🏾

Shoutout to the entire PO’ UP! Live team and especially @liv3lov3lizz for building something that lets our culture be part of the FUN, not something that has to be explained before we can enjoy it.

More Black-owned businesses. More Black-owned experiences. More spaces for us to gather just because. 🫂🫶🏾

🎟️ PO’ UP! Live is coming back this fall and tickets will be on sale soon! Head to @poupcards for details and bring everybody with you! 💛

And if you’re a founder building something I should know about, my Founder Spotlight Series is always looking for businesses, products and experiences worth putting more people onto. Head to the link in my bio or DM me! ✨

Last night, Leimert Park showed OUT. 🖤🔥

The first Blackout Game Night of Black Business Month was a celebration of Black creativity, entrepreneurship, community and what happens when people come together just to have a damn good time.

Proud to be building something this special in LA. The first and only event like it in the world… for now.

Much love to our partners @solefolks for creating the perfect backdrop for a night like this! 🖤

Shout out to @luq.look for keeping the party live every time.

Thank you to @oxtailsocial for coming through, keeping us fed and SELLING OUT!

Thanks to @joinlinks for providing the platform to connect this community.

And the biggest thank you to the Leimert Park community, Blackout game night regulars, and new people who had the courage to show up solo and make some new friends.

Check the #SummerofSole schedule to make sure you don’t miss the next one!
