My old grad school advisor recently told me how lucky I was to have stumbled onto this story. He’s right.
A literary-historical novel inspired by a true story: in 1905 a naturalist vanishes into a forest in southern Africa, abandoning his infant son. Thirty years later that son, a Buddhist historian at Harvard, finds his father’s research twisted to justify racial hierarchy, and has to journey home to stop it.
For readers of All the Light We Cannot See and Cutting for Stone. Out October 20. Link in bio. #thefarthershore #debutnovel #literaryfiction #historicalfictionbooks #bookstagram

With Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of The Odyssey coming to theaters, the history behind the myth is worth a closer look.

WHERE TROY ONCE STOOD, narrated by Dennis Kleinman (@aworldvoice), explores the collapse of the Bronze Age, the arrival of the Sea Peoples, and the forgotten world that may have inspired Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey.

The Adventure of the Deadly Dimensions
(Sherlock Holmes vs. Cthulhu - Book 1)
Written by Lois H. Gresh

Listening Length: 11 hours and 25 minutes
Read by Dennis Kleinman @aworldvoice

Sherlock Holmes has been presented with a most unusual and perplexing case. The son of an inventor believes that his father’s creation, the machine that powers East London’s Tram network, has killed him. Furthermore the victim’s bones have been neatly arranged and stacked. Most mysterious of all were the perfectly round spheres, made up of bone and the size of a fist, covered in incised arcane symbols. Unfortunately this death is only one of many. As Holmes and Watson investigate these crimes they uncover a series of strange geometrical links leading back to the mysterious Order of Dagon.

Nowadays combining the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and HP Lovecraft seems like is a popular trope. This is a fine example of this genre but for me, I preferred James Lovegrove’s The Cthulhu Casebooks trilogy.

PART 2 🎨 of Caravaggio out now!

Malta. A fortress carved from rock, surrounded by sea, ruled by warrior monks who pray at dawn and kill by noon.

Caravaggio arrives to paint a portrait. He stays because he has no choice. The Grand Master offers sanctuary, admiration, and something neither man is prepared to name. The Captain at Arms offers suspicion, jealousy, and a locked door every night.

Act Two is the cage. Beautiful. Suffocating. Holy.
