FROM NEVER BEING A RUNNER.
TO WINNING A 3KM RUN.

There was a time when running wasn’t my thing.

I wasn’t naturally good at it.

I didn’t love it.

And I definitely didn’t think I’d ever be winning a run.

But I started.

Then I kept showing up.

One run became another.
The breathing got easier.
The legs got stronger.
The times started dropping.

And eventually,

I WON A 3KM RUN.

Not because I suddenly became a runner overnight.

Because I stayed consistent long enough to become one.

Whatever you’re starting right now, don’t worry about being the best.

Just start. Then keep showing up.

You might surprise yourself with where you end up.

Another 5km in the bag 🏃‍♀️👏

@awsfunrun was definitely a test SO many hills, which we are definitely not used to 😂 But honestly, it was good to push ourselves and see what we could do!

41 minutes was A LOT better than I was expecting 🙌

My watch says 1.29km up and 1.28km down… but I swear there was absolutely not 2km of flat ground 🤣 So I’m choosing to believe my watch is lying because that course felt like it was basically ALL hills 😂

Bringing out our inner @wizkhalifa 😂
And no ice bath needed today because one was supplied 👌🥶

New week, so we’re back in the mode of bettering ourselves 🥹💪

The first week of September had us working our butts off, but this week work has slowed down a little, which means we’re prioritising ourselves again. 🤍

4km done because you guys are EVIL and went with the longest option on the poll 😭😂

And this time we had some extras join us for the run too 🥰 There’s something about having a little crew that makes the kilometres a whole lot more fun!

I’ve signed us up for the 5km at @awsfunrun and then again for the casino fun run, so I guess we have to do more of these longer runs now 🏃‍♀️😂

I remember when I once said I would NEVER run more than 3km… and now look at us. 🥹

To some people, 4km might not seem like much, but I never wanted to be a runner, and I still don’t particularly like running 🤣 so this feels like A LOT for me.

Slowly but surely, we’re becoming people I never thought we’d be. And I bloody love that. 🥹🤍

WE DID IT 🥹😭💪

Here’s how it went…

Somehow we turned up, sickness and all, with basically ZERO preparation…

AND WE NAAAAILED IT. 🥹🔥

No PB today, but we finished 5km in under 40 minutes 🥳 and that’s only 1 minute slower than my PB!!! 😭🔥

Considering the circumstances, that feels like a HUGE win for us! 🥹💪

A reminder that it’s not always about getting your fastest time or being at your fittest. Sometimes it’s just about showing up, giving it everything you’ve got and surprising yourself with what you can still do. 🤍

So bloody proud of us. 🥹

Now… maybe we should actually start training for the Alstonville run. 😂🫠

Thank you to all of our students
at Maca Music, friends, and family who came down to the Fun Run community event on the weekend @awsfunrun supporting the local Alstonville High school.
We loved being out in the local community — it
was a vibrant day full of colour, energy, and fun!

We were so proud to showcase our talented students, from the youngest at just 8 years old
Music truly brings people of all ages together, and we’re grateful to be part of such a supportive community.

Until next time, keep making music and spreading joy! 🎤🥁🎸
