A couple of these #twittersign photos are @frontlinepbs Elon Musk’s Twitter Takeover. On Monday after changing @twitter to an ugly X, Elon Musk had @axesigns start removing Twitter from the signs in San Francisco. They were halted by SFPD which said it was miscommunication, but Musk knew he couldn’t just take down the sign because in April he covered up the w to make it titter & was told by @shorenstein_sf to uncover it because his lease said he needed permission to alter the sign. Musk had Axe paint the W white (you can see it on the ground in the second photo) which didn’t work very well because it still read as twitter. Also, the Twitter bird in addition to still being on all three sides of the Market St sign is still up on the side of 1 10th St & in the lobby even though they left their remaining floors two, eight, nine & ten of the building in August 2022 after putting up 104,850 sq ft for sublease in Sept 2020. I posted a link in stories to threads (I’m also @tigerbeat there) with six more photos that didn’t work vertically including media interviewing Supervisor Matt Dorsey who did publicity for Musk’s original x.com banking startup & a @cruise car that was confused by the chaos. @threadsapp is better in some ways than instagram because it can display vertical & horizontal photos & better than Twitter (though threads lacks features like alt text). #twitter #elonmusk #sanfrancisco #marketst #marketstreet #twitterhq
