Lighting. Acoustics. Architecture. One ceiling system.

Meet Tacet by Axis Lighting (@axislighting) — an innovative ceiling solution that transforms the familiar T-bar grid into an architectural feature.

✅ Integrated LED lighting + thermoformed acoustic felt panels
✅ Straight, curved, square, concave, and flat forms for creative layouts
✅ Up to 6,000 lumens per 2x2 with efficacy up to 141 lm/W
✅ Designed to help reduce echo and reverberation while improving visual comfort

With 2x2 and 2x4 configurations, Tacet gives designers the freedom to bring pattern, movement, colour, and depth to the ceiling — without leaving the familiar grid system behind.

For offices, schools, healthcare, hospitality, and public spaces, Tacet brings light and sound together in one clean, cohesive design.

🎥 Watch this Mac’s II Minute to see how Tacet is rethinking the ceiling grid

Lighting Inspo ✨ Sharp & Striking

Some lighting is designed to blend in. Some is designed to make you look twice.

Sharp angles, and unexpected silhouettes can turn a luminaire into a defining element of an interior, bringing movement, structure, and personality to the space around it.

In this edition of Lighting Inspo, we’re highlighting fixtures that embrace sharpness and prove that lighting can be more than illumination.

From the striking forms of Axis Sculpt Forms (@axislighting), to the dramatic shadow play of Quasar’s Rontonton by Zaneen (@zaneenlighting), to the unmistakable starburst silhouette of Modern Forms’ Siren (@modforms), these designs are built to command attention.

Because sometimes, the right angle is all it takes to make a space unforgettable.

For World Architecture Day 🏛️, we paired iconic landmarks with lighting from our manufacturers that echoes their shapes, curves, and silhouettes.

A little architectural sightseeing—through a lighting lens!

Here’s to the architects who give us so much to look up to—and so much inspiration✨

Get into patterns with Tacet by Axis Lighting. Designed to move beyond the traditional grid, Tacet creates visual rhythm through straight, curved, square, concave, and flat configurations, with multiple module sizes and seamless pattern possibilities. Its recessed installation and clean, integrated design make it a natural fit for offices, collaborative spaces, corridors, and other commercial interiors.

Rethink the grid. Link in bio.

Pro: Excellent lighting.

Con: Took a full week to recover and actually post these. 📸✨

Still thinking about how fantastic IIDA Northland Minnecon was last week! A huge thank you to all the brilliant designers and energetic students who stopped by to chat, connect, and nerd out over design with us.

Massive shoutout to our incredible sponsors Estiluz, Lightsome Studio, and Justice Design Group for the support (and the samples that are already making our office look good).

Worth the wait, right? 😉

We brought the glow—you gave us so much to celebrate! 🥂✨

With the festivities moving between cities each year, we loved welcoming the @iidaohky design community to our home turf in Cleveland!

Our booth at the IIDA OHKY Student Conference got a colorful makeover courtesy of Ecosense, turning our corner (and us!) into a rainbow. Students got hands-on with Tacet’s playful sample, rearranging and exploring possibilities, while Somari brought the warm glow and plenty of admirers. Our favorite part? Meeting the future designers behind all that curiosity!

Then, it was time to dress up and celebrate at the Design Awards Gala! The Cleveland Museum of Natural History made a stunning backdrop—shoutout to DLR Group on the design! Between cheering on friends taking home awards, cocktails, empanadas, macarons, and a little dancing, there was plenty to celebrate. There were so many talented interior designers attending, and to see their work recognized is incredible!

Congratulations to @vocondesign for the Sherwin Williams Experience Center, @dlr_group for the museum, @kdkos from HD+S for her IIDA Career Achievement Award, and to Hunter M. and @nacarchitecture for their outstanding work on Dani’s place, which won its category award, and top honors over all other category winners. Every single winner, nominee, and team member behind each project featured deserves a congratulations!

Thank you, IIDA OHKY, for bringing the design community together—from the students just getting started to the designers creating spaces we love. Already looking forward to next year!!!
