If you read all of this, I cannot thank you enough, and I hope you find a $20 in your pocket or something.

It’s been an extremely full week for JIJI’s both on stage and behind the scenes. A big part of our programming revolves around the time we take to dress the crowd and remind ourselves of audience etiquette — clap after solos, be present, lean in and let go. This week especially tested us both as organizers and as a community. We supported @gengis_don with “CAN’T CANCEL JAZZ” Festival alongside @freshsoundsla with just three-ish days of planning. We hosted our first LATIN JAZZ NIGHT where we encouraged the community to come out and dance away their stresses + sweat it out literally.

We won’t stop as long as there’s people that want what we’re offering. We are so indebted to the jazz community of LA and cannot thank you enough in words. We hope to show it over and over.

Kindly,
@tidathaitea & JIJI the cat

Still smiling about this one it’s been awful(ly great)

The third LA edition of Listening is Fundamental was a celebration of TDE’s legacy and Isaiah Rashad’s discography at @flavorsfromafar.co. Then Isaiah Rashad walked in and suprised us.

Getting to hear him reflect on the person he’s had to become to create his music his way while reminding us to romanticize our lives and get comfortable with confrontation.

This moment reminded us why LiF began in first place. Turning curiosity into something communal, and being grateful that it continues to bring people together through music, conversation, and the stories behind the songs.

Thank you @issamau for the TDE TAKEOVER DJ set, @samwyse for helping bring us back to LA, and everyone who spent the evening listening with us.

LA we’ll be back very soon 🎧

This season was so challenging is so many ways for me, which only made it more rewarding in the end. I am eternally grateful that I had the opportunity to lead a group that I pedestal so much, and having the best friends in the world to have my back when I needed them. The trust I felt in this group was undeniable.

This activity has given me everything, now it’s my turn to give back. Gonna miss it a lot.

Last one done

I have a lot I could say but I’ll keep it brief. I want to thank @yasuduh @zach.da.swanky and @lucas.bollenbecker and the whole pulse staff for welcoming me into Pulse and being great educators. I also want to thank the snareline for accepting me into the Pulse family. I owe so much to everyone who has supported me through the season.

And lastly, I want to thank @mimo_drums and @chandlerdenzel for making the whole season completely worth it.
