graduated, called myself a lancer for the last time, and finally turned 18 :)

Time has been moving so fast lately, I never even got a chance to say my thank yous!

Thanks to Lafayette’s XC and Track team for being my second family for four years and teaching me so much! I’m so so grateful for all the amazing people I’ve met and all the lessons I’ve learned!

And thank you to Lafayette for being the place where it all happened! I could say so much more but just know that I’m gonna miss all my friends so much!

As much as I’m excited to begin this new chapter, I can’t help but feel like I’m gonna miss this era!

AFS placed 🇯🇵 Ayasa from Japan in St. Louis where she attended a Rockwood school and made many friends. Ayasa tried new activities and was so kind to everyone. Thank you to AFS for providing such great support to Ayasa and her host family. This is an exchange program that acts with integrity. Thank you to the Rockwood School District for accepting Ayasa!

Exchange students experiencing Prom! It’s very interesting learning about formal dances in other countries. Does your school in your home country have a formal dance? How does it differ from here?
These are interesting questions to learn when you host an exchange student. Great students can come through any program, but for host families it is extremely important to choose an exchange program that acts with integrity. The students in the photos were placed in St. Louis by either AFS or World Heritage - two programs that treat host families with honesty and respect.
