What's your WHY??

Shout out to @katiemehnert for holding on to her vision and promise. @houstonenergyclimateweek would not be what it is without your leadership and drive.

If you were able to catch her at all last week you saw first hand what this means to her.

Houston We DO Have Solutions, and Katie has built the team needed to bring those to life. 🌎✨✨

Creatopia hosted "Houston We Have Solutions" as part of the amazing @houstonenergyclimateweek .

We had 15 + entities (businesses, universities, start-ups, etc) join us at The Innovation Studio with amazing food + vibes.
They were able to showcase, participate in an interview tand some shared a 60s pitch.

Our brilliant MC ( @aymusik ) kept us charged and did an amazing job highlighting our participants.
This clip of his interview with @amplifywomenofcolor does a great job of highlighting the importance of capturing the stories and amplifying them.

Our WHY is our fuel.
We'd love to hear yours!

Shout out to the organizing team for that day: @katiemehnert , @nataliefabe , @olagiwa , and @gillian.smart1 .

Still soaking in the energy from an incredible Tuesday at The Nest Climate Campus! 🌍⚡
From cutting-edge climate science to grassroots momentum, yesterday was a powerful reminder of what happens when vision, action, and community collide under one roof during Climate Week.
A few big highlights from the day:
Connecting with AY Young: Meeting @aymusik in person was pure inspiration. The way he channels music, clean energy, and infectious optimism through the Battery Tour shows that climate action doesn’t just have to be urgent—it can be uplifting and culturally transformative.

Planetary boundaries with Johan Rockström: Hearing Johan lay out Earth system science on the main stage delivers that necessary jolt of reality. We have hard guardrails, and science must lead our policy and enterprise roadmaps.
Moral leadership with Jacqueline Novogratz:

Jacqueline’s insights on patient capital and putting human dignity at the center of innovation were deeply moving. Building solutions that outlast us takes moral imagination.

Corporate accountability with Jesper Brodin: Jesper broke down what scalable circularity and sustainable retail look like from the inside out—proving that business models must actively regenerate, not just reduce harm.

Tackling food rescue: The sessions on food systems and food waste diversion hit hard. Rescuing surplus food isn’t just an environmental necessity; it’s an immediate, actionable bridge to equity and community resilience.

Leaving the campus inspired, challenged, and ready to push the work forward.
What’s giving you the most climate optimism right now? Drop your thoughts below. 👇🌱

So grateful to have been part of @houstonenergyclimateweek and to co-host Houston, We Have a Solution.

A room full of ideas, people building real solutions, an open mic that basically took on a life of its own, and the kind of energy that reminds you how much is happening right here in Houston

Shout out to the founder @katiemehnert and my co-chairs @nataliefabe & @gillian.smart1. Huge thanks to @mamma_chula for opening @creatopiainc doors for us. And a special thanks to my long time friend @ofilidesigns for pulling up and delivering. And finally, shout out to one of the most amazing artist I know @aymusik for blessing us with his awesomeness and heartfelt music performances.

Dream team we make. Can’t wait for 2027!!!
