FCS Senior Night 💚🏐💛

Five very special seniors and so many great memories. I’ve loved watching each of these girls play, grow and compete over the years. They are all special to me, and I’m so thankful I’ve had the chance to watch this group share the court together.

So proud of all five of you. 💚🏐💛

Today, our daughter was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. She just graduated with her degree in digital forensics and will begin her service with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. It’s hard to describe what it feels like to watch your child stand in a moment like that. You see every step that led her there, the long nights, the pressure, the quiet determination, and the times she kept going when it would have been easier not to.

She is the sixth generation of service in the Daniel family, but today felt like more than carrying on a legacy. It felt like watching her become exactly who she was meant to be. I had the honor of rendering her first salute as an officer, a moment neither of us will ever forget. After the ceremony, she stepped outside with her best friend, Sergeant Shelby Moncrief of the United States Marine Corps, who returned her first enlisted salute as a lieutenant. Those are the kinds of moments that stay with you.

We are proud in a way that runs deeper than words, proud of what she has accomplished, but even more proud of who she is. Watching our daughter take an oath to serve something greater than herself is something we will carry with us for the rest of our lives. It is one of the greatest honors of our lives to be her parents.
