Painful muscles can be prevented for mother and the baby can get enough breast milk when there is good positioning, especially having the the mindset of

*put your baby to the breast and not the breast to the baby*

Gbọ́mọsọ́mú. 👍🏽 Not gbọ́múfọ́mọ 👎🏽

(The Yorùbá language made the explanation click for me.)

Knowing the difference between these two scenarios influences how the mother puts the baby's head on her arm, the baby on her chest and lifts up the breast to the baby's mouth.

This works more for 0-6 months babies, not those big babies that drag their mothers' breasts by themselves like person wey dey eat chicken neck or draw water from the well, biting and smacking. 🤣

Selected entries from Tobi Adebayo’s official open call submissions for the recently released project are out now.

Thank you to everyone who contributed publicly and privately, and engaged with the artwork, which explores “Religion and Culture”. Your perspectives gave the work more depth. Well done to you all.

Note: This was not a competition. It was primarily a call for reflection. The entries stood out for their clarity and connection to the work.

The dialogue around this project remains open. Everyone is still welcome to share thoughts and engage with the body of work.

Special thanks to our sponsor, Mayowa Aderoju @phemoriz, for supporting with the cash prizes.

Highlighted selected entries: Please DM @tobiadebayostudios to claim your reward.

Across generations, mothers have strung care, caution, cultural upbringing, and celebrations into ornaments that we all wear as our strong sense of being and belonging. Mothers hold the baton of the human race, beyond ensuring continuity, but also productivity.

No one exactly gets the manual of motherhood, but with each menses flowing, the zygotes formed in us, the womb openings, babies' cries, and every stage of growth and development, we behold ourselves stronger than we could ever know, stepping into roles as ancient as the beginning of the world and lasting till the hairs go grey and the bones settle down beyond.

The #InternationalMothersDay is another reminder to be grateful for motherhood, for our dear mothers and all the great mothers of this world.

Happy Celebration from #ThePGClub. 🌹
What are you most grateful for as a mum this week? 😃

Motherhood burnout is real. The restlessness and edginess, unstable health and loss of body nutrients (especially due to prolonged breastfeeding and less balanced diet), mental and emotional stress...

The feeling of being stuck with your career goals or even being left behind in life or ministerial assignments...

We understand, mama. 🫂 We've been there, and some of us still go through this in stages.

This is a reminder to take a break when you can, and receive help if it's been offered or when you demand it. Please, stop your racing mind and over-the-top care, and just sleep well.

You will be fine. You, and your little human, and all you care about. 🤍
