The Problem
As a proud resident of Quebec, I am deeply concerned about the recent incident at the National Assembly. Today, Ruba Ghazal, during her swearing-in ceremony, displayed a Palestinian symbol within the official setting of our democratic institution. In my view, this gesture was inappropriate and out of place for an official ceremony, which should focus exclusively on serving our Quebec community.
Quebec is a welcoming home to many people from all walks of life. We value diversity, openness, and inclusion. However, during official and solemn occasions such as swearing-in ceremonies, it is crucial that our elected representatives focus on the priorities of our people and uphold the values of political neutrality and respect for our province's democratic institutions.

Ruba Ghazal, the radical leftist of radical Islam

Ruba Ghazal appeared at the National Assembly wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh, also called a kufiya, a symbol associated with Palestinian national identity and political resistance, notably popularized by Yasser Arafat.

What bothers me is the political message being sent and the enthusiastic reaction from her colleagues. It almost looked as though they were celebrating a political conquest rather than a simple clothing choice.

In a Quebec society shaped by its history, traditions, and Christian heritage, this symbol may raise legitimate questions about the values and political causes it represents. However, it must also be acknowledged that a keffiyeh, on its own, does not prove support for extremism or a terrorist organization.

Should Canada continue sending foreign aid when political commitments are not being fulfilled, while Canadian families struggle with the cost of living?

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is demanding cuts to foreign aid, sharply criticizing the Palestinian Authority and calling it a “dictatorial terrorist regime.”

In his remarks, Poilievre pointed to delayed elections, a lack of progress on demilitarization and outstanding governance reforms. He argued that Canadian taxpayers who are struggling to pay their bills should not have to fund governments that fail to meet their commitments.

His message is clear: cut foreign aid and put Canadians first.

The debate raises serious questions about how Canada spends taxpayers’ money abroad, what conditions should be attached to international assistance, and how Ottawa should respond when promised reforms are delayed.

However, it is important to distinguish political rhetoric from established facts. Poilievre’s description is his own characterization of the Palestinian Authority, which is distinct from Hamas. The specific funding arrangements and conditions should be assessed using official government records.

Do you agree with Poilievre? Should Canada cut aid until the promised elections and reforms take place, or should humanitarian assistance continue? Share your opinion below.

We will not allow Quebec to be taken over by Sharia law. We value Quebec and Canadian culture. And we support the secularism here in Quebec.

I want to make something very clear. Yesterday, Jews, Persians, and the people of Quebec stood side by side against terror.
What is happening in the Middle East is horrific.
War is horrific.
Suffering on all sides is horrific.
This is the result of Hamas and extremist groups like the IRGC terrorizing the region and showing a complete disregard for the safety and well-being of their own people.

We pray for peace.
Am Israel Chai.
