📆 15 Years of “Thursday”

“Thursday” is The Weeknd’s second mixtape, released on August 18, 2011. It continued the experimental sound introduced on “House of Balloons”, blending R&B, pop, and electronic elements with Abel’s signature dark themes of love, loss, and self-destruction.

The mixtape features fan favorites like “Rolling Stone”, “The Zone” with Drake, “The Birds”, and “Life of the Party”.

With its atmospheric production and deeply personal lyrics, “Thursday” helped establish The Weeknd as one of the most distinctive artists of the dark R&B scene and became another important step in his rise to global recognition.

For its 10th anniversary, the mixtape received updated artwork and a limited-edition merch collection designed by artist Mr. Yanen.

💬 What does “Thursday” mean to you? We know some of you were drawn to The Weeknd precisely because of this darker side, while others needed some time to get into it 💛❤️🩵
