I’ve had this fantasy where everyone I love sits at the same table. It’s been a recurring dream that plays over and over and over again. The setting is always the same though; a long, candlelit table, much like the one I had for my birthday party. (Iykyk) The perfect amount of crowded. Every seat is filled, and no one I love is missing.

But as I’ve gotten older, the seating chart has changed. It’s gotten smaller and smaller because some people can’t make it—like my mom, my brother, tia chela, Vanessa’s dad, Steff’s grandma, JJ’s mom, and a few others who are preoccupied upstairs until we link up again. ~we vibin~

But It’s always followed the idea that there would always be room for one more. Childhood friends, cousins, friends of friends, my wife’s friends, her family—everyone I want, and then some, all seated at this table. It’s loud, chaotic, and everyone’s laughing; both the loud and quiet kind.

Conversations overlap and arms stretch across the table to pass each other plates. My coworkers hand food to my friends, my childhood friends get to know my newest ones; my newest friends talk to my sister, and my brothers swap stories with my coworkers. Some of us have kids, some of us are trying and some of them are annoying, in the best way possible. Literally the chaos I dream of. (just like my birthday party)

I imagine this is the closest feeling to fullness in life. Every time I spend meals and moments with you, it feels like I just left that table. So this is just a sweet little reminder, to all of my old friends, and the new ones, that I love you.

Always simpin for you guys.
