POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This month, we’re celebrating Azalina’s 17th business anniversary! Chef Azalina Eusope is a La Cocina graduate who joined the program in October 2009.

A James Beard semifinalist, Azalina serves food rooted in five generations in Penang, with Chinese, Indian, and Malay flavors.

Here are two places to find Azalina’s Malaysian food this fall.

🫖 Oct 25: HOMEGROWN: Malaysian High Tea

A speakeasy cultural feast hidden between two delivery trucks. HOMEGROWN returns to the Fort Mason Farmers’ Market waterfront for a full fall Malaysian feast. Five courses served family-style using seasonal ingredients from the stalls around you. Teh tarik (tea pulling) will be served throughout — one of the great performances of Malaysian street culture.

Hosted by @ediblesf, Fort Mason Farmers’ Market, and Azalina’s.

🍲 Azalina’s Monthly Supper Club

While Azalina’s searches for a new permanent space, you can still get the best of what Chef Azalina is cooking through the new Supper Club. Each month, she puts together a complete multi-course meal: starters, mains, sides, and something sweet, fully prepared and ready to eat at home.

Membership is limited. Sign up before it sells out!

📍 Pickup at La Cocina - 2948 Folsom St or local delivery
🗓️ First meals ready in November

From ranch to kitchen to table, Sunday night was an amazing reminder of what makes our Bay Area food community so special!⭐️

We were honored to be one of the featured farms at the @foodwise Sunday Supper at the San Francisco @ferrybuilding, where some of the Bay Area’s top chefs came together with local farmers, ranchers, and change makers for an unforgettable night.

We’re especially grateful to the restaurants and chefs who featured Stemple Creek Ranch proteins in their dishes. There’s nothing quite like seeing what talented chefs create with the food we work so hard to raise.

Thank you to Foodwise and everyone who made the night possible. We’re grateful to be a small part of such an incredible community!

That’s a lot of talent in one photo. 🤩

To every chef and restaurant partner who brought their time, creativity and seriously good food to One Big Table: thank you.

You helped make this year’s celebration one to remember while supporting the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank’s work to provide food to 46,000 households each week across San Francisco and Marin.

Thank you for bringing so much to the table, in every sense of the phrase. 💚🍏

One of those life-changing moments! Found a funnel that fits just right!! 😁 Hot sambal 🌶️ tumis straight from the stove into those heated jarrs.

MORE little red jars just landed at Berkeley Bowl West!

So, what makes this worth adding to your pantry?

A Slice of My 🇸🇬 Heritage
Our house sauce began in my mom’s kitchen in Singapore, built around the flavors I grew up with. A slow-cooked Singaporean chili jam, each micro batch takes more than 2 days and many hours of cooking and stirring 😅 Learned the recipe from my mom so I can make it here in Berkeley, have it as often as I want and of course am always happy to share!

Coconut + Vegan + Kokumi
Coconut milk gives it a luscious, creamy, nutty character accompanying this reasonable amount of heat 🔥. Yes, coconut! Definitely not abandoning a crucial piece that reminds me of our tropical sunny island 🇸🇬 I had developed this version without shellfish, reworking the ratios and technique to build that depth and kokumi.

Only Real Ingredients (no artificial additives)
Peppers, rice bran oil, red onions, shallots, coconut milk, coconut, vegan sugar and kosher salt. This condiment is made without gluten, soy, dairy, tree nuts, peanuts, seeds, shellfish and animal products.

Thoughtful Design
From the recipe to the label 📸 02. , I’ve had my hands in every part of this little red jar. Every container is signed off with love x intention 🫶 Honestly, my mommy couldn’t be prouder. 😊

If you know someone who’d love a little 🇸🇬 heat in their pantry, send this their way. Find them at Berkeley Bowl West and also very soon at an Oaktown Spice Shop near you!

Stay warm!
🔥 Xx,
Jin

P/s: 📸03. Azalina 🇲🇾 is our neighbor on the shelf! Yes, I do love her sauces and had it in her cooking too! Do consider trying them out yourself! 😊 Or even better, get both our sauces, so you can alternate for endless possibilities in your kitchen!

A few years back, contributing concept sketches for @azalinas_ and her mission to honor her family’s Malaysian street food roots was one of the highlights of my graduate program. Loved seeing her restaurant earn a spot in the Michelin Guide — congratulations to Azalina and her whole team on this well-deserved recognition 🎉

@azalinas_ their shrimp spring rolls were insane. i didn’t expect to have such crispy rolls at a festival! 10/10
