The Fresh American 250th Engines for D.C. 🇺🇸🦅

After hearing the CSX 250th Anniversary Engines were released from Waycross Paint Shop in early June. They would be heading to Washington, D.C. for the Fourth of July to celebrate America’s 250th Birthday. CSX 250 would lead OCS P001 with Engine 2026 “United We Stand” riding behind including the two F40’s as well, as they would head back south on the 30th. When they departed, I would be on the lookout until hearing they were out of Florence, SC. My buddies would head to Petersburg to get a clear shot of the engines at Petersburg Station after Midnight to see these beautiful engines running. Would pass through at 1:46 A.M. but they were worth it to stay up past midnight to see these before being put into service.

The Semi Truck really made the photo look good 👀

Normal evening sitting at North BX as we were would see M418 pulling into the yard to pick up is daily empty containers back to New York. Would get word of a northbound freight coming north and I would be blocked to not see the train. Met a buddy @azzyeditss at Collier and we would make the last minute decision to head to Grimes Road and get a Head-End Meet between M418 & M410. 410 would make his way through with a Low Ditchlight (GE) YN2 CW44AC 210 leading as they would be rebuilt sometime soon, so it was nice to see the last non-rebuilt engine before it gets rebuilt in the coming months.

Perfect Sunset on this Colorful Duo! 🚂🚨🚔

What was rumored to be put on a train out of Rice Yard and reported to be on a Selkirk train. It would be an hour later and they would depart with the Baltimore & Ohio leading solo & Spirit of our Law Enforcement as Mid-DPU. Would hear that they dropped half of their train in Florence, SC and would have the Law Enforcement facing out as Rear-DP as it would continue to head north as the RDPU!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy it here!
