Head Over Heels - IAB 2026

Last month I had the pleasure of stage managing for MT6’s final production at the IAB, Head Over Heels. It was such an incredible experience to work alongside such talented creatives and performers. Big thanks to the entire team for your support, the effort you all put into this production, and most importantly your patience. This was the largest project I’d ever had the opportunity to work on as a stage manager and learned so much throughout the process. Looking forward to when our paths cross again.

Once again, thank you to the IAB for bringing me back onboard this school year and for your trust. I would also like to thank the creative team (Tania, Taylor, and Bob) for your direction and endless passion and love for the craft with which you brought to this production.

Furthermore, couldn’t have done it without my incredible stage management team, production team, and technicians. Thank you Michele, Eli, and Pau for stepping up to the challenge of assistant stage managing and all the extra work you put into the production. You all truly went above and beyond. Many thanks to Clara for stepping in during the last two weeks and for taking on all the extra work that still needed to be done. Lastly, lots of love to my partner in crime, @b.eatrizfeist how I miss working with you already. We’ve really been through it ahaha and I can’t wait for when “Double B Productions” gets to create together again. 🫶

PIPPIN✨ - Performed recently by Musical Theatre Year 3 students.

Featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Roger O. Hirson, the original production of Pippin premiered on Broadway in 1972, directed and choreographed by Bob Fosse. It became known for its stylised movement vocabulary and layered political undertones, earning multiple Tony Awards.

Pippin follows a young prince in search of purpose, tempted by spectacle, revolution, pleasure and the promise of an extraordinary destiny. In the end, he must choose between a dazzling “Grand Finale” and a quieter, more human path, a choice that questions illusion, success, and authenticity.

In @dr_jcarlo version, the piece is approached through radical pedagogy and collaboration, reframing the rehearsal room as a space for shared authorship rather than hierarchy. Instead of centering spectacle, this production foregrounds connection, radical love, and joy as acts of resistance, inviting the audience to reconsider what meaningful success truly looks like today.

The work ,passion,commitment and resilience from this company has been pretty special and I am honoured to have spent the past couple of weeks making with you all.
