I wanted to take a moment to congratulate everyone who earned their stripes and new belts.

Jiu-jitsu is one of the few martial arts where earning rank takes a significant amount of time and effort. What you see here is a group of consistent martial artists who continue to show up and put in the work.

It’s an honor to be called your coach. I’m proud of every one of you. Thank you so much.

Translation- a fat @$$ is the sweetest revenge. You can be a smooth talker but if your @$$ ain’t fat, your words don’t mean shit.

We brought four competitors to the tournament today. Every one of them stepped up against experienced schools in tough brackets. Four silvers and one bronze. One of our athletes even moved up nearly 20 pounds and down an age division just to get matches. Proud is an understatement. We’ll study the footage, improve, and come back better. @cloudninemma

Let's do this! I recommend coming at 10:30a to stretch and get all geared up. We will start at exactly 11a. Don’t forget to bring your boxing gloves (mma gloves too if you have it), shin guards, and hand wraps. See you all there!

Many should know who that is...if not that's Adam Lavigne of @adamaskwhy_bonsai . A bucket list item was checked off. A private lesson with Adam. As I'm truly so far removed from the Bonsai community. I took advantage back in 2019. When he was up north. Drove to Cincinnati... and did some sightseeing and made it a mini trip. Evan, a club member, opened his house so I could have the private lesson. I swear... we have some amazing people in this hobby of ours. Thanks again, Adam, for a cool chunk of wood. Nicknamed "Chunky Monkey" the tigerbark...not Adam. 🙃🤪 That bark, though...last image of slide. Truly was why I wanted a chunk of wood for a tigerbark. It's freaking amazing! Like...elephant hide!

I'll add this... anyone who sits in on a demo at a club or hears Adam talk. That man blew my mind at his knowledge... and has a great sense of humor.

Giggling...the conservatory had the bonsai hidden during my visit...as they were focused on some other thing for that viewing/time of the month. I ... may ... have ... snuck past some areas 🫣 to still get a look at them. With the mentality to ask for forgiveness later if caught... 😁... I was not stopped or found out. Later learning a club member could have gotten me in. As they took care of the bonsai there. Oh, geesh!

My gosh MARTIN!!!... Ms Kool-aid even back then! 🤯 as...I...did...once...moved past police baracades to get to the bathroom. Bawahahahahahaha. Because clearly...it was a fire hazard/blocked doorways...and there was no police tape up. I had to clear... two doors heavily blocked. The second doorway... did make me pause, which is why Martin calls me Ms Kool-aid. Remember the character that busted through walls. 😉 nothing stops me. If I'm determined. Coming eye to eye with chief of police as I'm friends with his wife...and...wait. I still ask to get by him. 🫣 I clearly chose not to read the room. Once he shook his head no [Looks to kill]...and I read the room. I realized... I should not be there... and slunked away.

THE TIM BURTON ACER... named by my friend Will @whfarro

Love this tree...the bones/structure of the trunk. It truly is the breath and life of this tree. The canopy...is only the frosting.

Sitting in a commissioned pot by Victor Harris...fired over 20 some times...to get that texture seen. The depth in it is unbelievable. I'm a texture fein...so it is absolutely delicious.

Species: Japanese maple 🍁 Acer Palmatum rootstock more or less.

Pot: Commissioned by Victor Harris of Erin Pottery (UK potter)
