Next Saturday! 🎃 Oct 31, 7-10 pm

The exhibition MURMURATION brings together artistic positions from Berlin, Los Angeles and Mexico City. Its title refers to the phenomenon of coordinated flocking in birds - a dynamic, constantly shifting formation that moves forward collectively without relinquishing the freedom of movement of its individual members.

Applied to art, MURMURATION describes a coming together of artists: they combine their diverse approaches, energies, and perspectives to leave visible traces together - like a dancing formation in the sky. At the same time, each artist asserts their own artistic position.

The project is conceived as a transnational exchange based on solidarity, mutual support, and the formation of new networks. It demonstrates how individual artistic practices can resonate within a shared framework without being subordinated - and how this collaboration can give rise to something new, something greater than the sum of its parts.

This show is a part of @b_la_m_ , a three year art exchange created to deepen the relationships between the independent art scenes of Berlin, Los Angeles & Mexico City.

FUTURE ANTERIOR transforms the gallery into a speculative space where scales, temporalities, and forms of existence collide. The project continues an international exchange between Durden and Ray and Rosalux. The project began in Berlin in 2024, continued with a collaboration with Nixxxon in Mexico City in 2025, and culminates in this exhibition at Durden and Ray in Los Angeles. This iteration further explores science fiction and the imagining of possible futures.

The exhibition brings together works at two extremes: miniatures measuring no more than five inches in any dimension and monumental works measuring at least five feet in one dimension. Nothing in between. By removing the scale viewers typically see, the exhibition disrupts familiar proportions and asks what happens when the body is no longer the measure of the world.
Artists are invited to consider scale beyond physical measurement through geological and evolutionary time, cultural memory, technological change, ecological transformation, and imagined futures. Works may appear ancient, alien, microscopic, monumental, archaeological, futuristic, intimate, or impossible. Drawing on speculative and posthuman thought, science fiction, and the ways Al constructs futures from fragments of the past, the gallery becomes a time machine where histories return, mutate, and become something else.

Noysky Projects presents Mitgift, a curatorial collaboration with Frontviews (Berlin) and Ojo Arte (Mexico City), hosted by S-Gallery in East Hollywood. The exhibition is part of B-LA-M, a three-year exchange program designed to deepen relationships between the independent art communities of Berlin, Los Angeles, and Mexico City, with 14 participating galleries in Los Angeles. Mitgift is the third and final installment in a trilogy of exhibitions organized by the Noysky–Frontviews–Ojo curatorial cohort, following Birthmark (Berlin, 2024) and Nevus (Mexico City, 2025).

The German word Mitgift is most commonly translated as "dowry", but its meaning extends well beyond that. Literally understood as "something given along with you", the word carries multiple associations. Mit means "with", while Gift shares an etymological root with the English word "gift", yet in modern German the word Gift alone means "poison". The term is paradoxical, offering that which is bestowed may be both blessing and burden.
