My latest work as a First Assistant Director, the Saudi feature film “The Travellers’ Hell”, directed by Hanaa Al Omair, will screen in the Midnight Screenings section of the 47th Cairo International Film Festival.

An exciting cinematic adventure through the mountains and valleys of southern Saudi Arabia. A pleasure to collaborate with Hanaa Al Omair and to be part of an exceptional international crew.

Based on the novel by acclaimed author Osamah Almuslim, the film is produced by MBC Studios.

Special thanks to my Egyptian directing team, who shared this journey with me: Wafaa Ali, Youssef El Gharib, and Ahmed Hany.

Salt, but more than just a resource… a part of Al Khobar’s identity.

Inspired by the salt landscapes of the Eastern Province, AJAJ explores how scattered grains gradually come together to form something greater.

Taking inspiration from the salt accumulation process, we transformed this local story into a contemporary sculptural language that connects material, memory, and place.

From grains to masses, from extraction to landscape.

📌 لماذا تعطّلت حركة إنتاج الأفلام السعودية في 2026 رغم اتساع السوق وارتفاع الحوافز المالية؟

طرحت «فاصلة» هذا السؤال على خمسة من صنّاع الأفلام والعاملين في الصناعة السعودية، بحثًا عن أسباب تعثّر المشاريع؛ بدءًا من ارتفاع الميزانيات وصعوبة التمويل، مرورًا بتأخر الحوافز، وصولًا إلى العلاقة مع الجمهور وشباك التذاكر.

ويرى مصمّم الإنتاج أحمد باعقيل أنّ السوق السعودية تعود إلى حجمها الطبيعي بعد سنوات من التضخّم، قائلًا:

«مَن يعرف السوق يدرك أننا أمام بداية سنوات صعبة سينمائيًا، تضخّمت الصناعة خلال الأعوام الماضية، والآن تعود إلى حجمها الطبيعي».
