Halloween this year seemed to occupy 10 days, and this party kicked it off for us. We were lucky to get to work with @futurehifi__, who provided the most gorgeous sound.

To quote our friend @kylerogersmusic: “there were times when the subs seemed to rattle everything from the floor, walls, ceiling and my whole body. Crazy. Very cool. I’ve never experienced subs like that but it unlocked some new understanding in me sonically.” 🔊

We can’t wait to unlock more sonic understandings together in the future. 👀

DJs‼️ Is “Stay (I Missed You)” by @lisaloeb secretly the hottest club banger that MUST be on your USB? Yes.

Is it the exact kinda song you didn’t know you needed until you’re singing along/crying and then you’re like… “damn, this really WAS a banger!”? Yes.

Should I play it tonight at @beverlysnyc? Maybe.

Stoked to join the @baabaaco residency for the evening. Rotating sets from me, @brookegizem, @amla.dhas, and @talkshivi, starting at 9pm. Come hang whenever, there’s something for everyone.

Beverly’s is a rad artist-run bar and exhibition space in Chinatown, + all funds raised benefit our Queens neighbors via @astoriafoodpantry.

🌶️MEET THE BLACK SHEEP COLLECTIVE🌶️ @baabaaco @desimeasanu @brookegizem @amla.dhas

The Black Sheep Collective is an NYC-based queer DJ collective founded by ur kanmani, ZEM, and AMLA.DHAS. Inspired by global sounds from parts of their childhoods and travels (such as Hindustani/Carnatic, Anatolian, Tamil, Arab, Latin, and Afro genres), they work to blend these sounds with house, techno, funk, and other danceable tunes. By mixing music across the world, they hope to create spaces for those who thrive outside of expectations and boundaries placed on them, while building a curiosity that foregoes borders.

The Black Sheep Collective is also a group of interdisciplinary artists, and are experienced in musical performance through clarinet, piano, oud, violin, and dance. Black Sheep Collective shows center a multi-sensory experience, integrating music, dance, and visuals to engage the audience and participants. They have performed not only in NYC, but from Kalkan to Bangalore & DC to Chicago.

Meet @omermil__

He is a New York DJ and producer who is quickly becoming a mainstay in the Brooklyn club scene. A @goldenrecordnyc resident, Omer has performed at such notable clubs and parties as Hot Honey Sundays, Refuge, Signal and more. He has his own event series with @vin.yl_nyc and runs a top-notch sound system company called @futurehifi__

We are so stoked to partner with him for our party at @culturelablic this Saturday. Not only will he be playing, but also bringing his custom sound system to shake LIC up for the night.   We do our best to bring some of the best Brooklyn talent to Queens, and it means a lot that Omer is coming to rip on the decks at this party. You will not want to miss his set.   Saturday, October 25 in the theater at Culture Lab LIC. A new Halloween experience. There is still time to RSVP. Link in bio, if you dare.
