Who’s behind Witchcraftbike?

A question I get all the time. Many people think there’s a whole team behind Witchcraftbike. The answer is simple: it’s just me.

Hi, I’m Domi. I’ve been working as a bicycle mechanic since finishing my apprenticeship. For almost 18 years, I’ve been building wheels, exploring bicycle technology, and constantly searching for interesting manufacturers, unique ideas, and technical details that often go unnoticed. For more than ten years, I’ve also been involved in the final apprenticeship exams for bicycle mechanics, assessing the wheels built by apprentices.

Witchcraftbike exists because I wanted to share my passion for bicycles. What started as an Instagram account has grown into something much bigger. To be honest, I’m still not sure what Witchcraftbike actually is today. Is it a brand? Am I the brand? Or am I simply sharing what fascinates me? One thing is certain: Witchcraftbike has opened countless doors. I’ve met incredible people, built valuable connections, and visited workshops I probably never would have seen otherwise. Along the way, I’ve also been inspired by people like @johnprolly @theradavist

Today I introduce small manufacturers, visit workshops, test components, document unusual projects, and share a behind-the-scenes look at the cycling world. I also create product photography for websites, catalogs, and events. Almost everything you see is created by me: the photos, videos, writing, research, communication with manufacturers, and of course, wheel building. For certain work, such as anodizing, I work with trusted specialists.

Over time, my passion for wheel building has led to more and more requests. Today I build custom wheelsets for people, mainly in Switzerland and Germany, but occasionally much farther away, even as far as Iran.

Despite all that, Witchcraftbike is still, above all, a hobby that I genuinely enjoy. That’s exactly why I have the freedom to only take on projects that truly interest me.

Thank you for following and supporting @Witchcraftbike .

How did you first discover Witchcraftbike? How long have you been following? And what else would you like to know about me? Write it in the comments!

I designed and created this neon piece for my friend @oscarlussi 🦞💕🦞
The hand-blown glass gave the lobster a crustacean-like appearance.

Working with @luminososvilloro and @foli.works on the production in Barcelona was a real pleasure – thank you for the collaboration.
