Your Voice Deserves a Seat at the Table

My Journey

For a long time, I thought being quiet meant I was not ready.

If other people sounded more confident, I assumed they knew more. If someone had more experience, I stepped back. If I wasn't completely sure of myself, I preferred to listen rather than contribute.

Listening is valuable.

But there came a point when I realised that listening should prepare me to contribute—not permanently silence me.

My journey taught me that a seat at the table isn't always something someone gives you. Sometimes, you have to recognise that you have something valuable to bring to the conversation.

Not because you know everything.

You don't.

Neither does anyone else.

But because your experience, perspective, questions, ideas and even your mistakes may be exactly what the conversation needs.

I am learning not to wait until I have everything together before I step forward. In the place of my preparation, I can still participate. I can learn and still contribute. I can be growing and still have something to offer.

And perhaps that's one of the greatest changes in my own journey:

I no longer believe I have to be perfect to be present.

Your Transformation

There may be a table you have been standing beside for too long.

A workplace. A boardroom. A classroom. A relationship. A ministry. A business. A community. A family. A room where decisions are being made and ideas are being exchanged.

And perhaps you have been telling yourself:

"I'm not ready yet."

"Someone else knows more."

"Maybe next time."

"What if I say the wrong thing?"

But consider this:

What if your voice is part of what is needed?

Having a seat doesn't mean dominating the conversation. It means being willing to contribute to it.

Sometimes your contribution will be an answer. Sometimes a question. Sometimes an experience. Sometimes a different perspective. Sometimes simply the courage to say,

"I see it differently."

You don't have to have the loudest voice. You need to have the courage to use the voice you have.

Every Christmas, we dress well,
we cook well,
and we laugh well.

But let me tell you something small.

Life is not measured by how loud your laughter is,
but by how peaceful your heart is.

We have all made mistakes.
We have all fallen.

If you are still standing today,
it means grace has been holding you.

Don’t worry too much about what you don’t have yet.
Worry more about the life you still have

I laugh when people say,
‘Mama, life is hard.’

Life has always been hard.
We are just learning how to smile inside it.

This Christmas,
forgive easily.
Rest your heart.
Let go of anger.

Because peace is better than plenty.

And my prayer is this:

May next year answer you gently.
May your sleep be sweet.
May your tears reduce.
And may joy locate you,
even in small things.

MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎁🎄 AND HAPPY NEW YEAR IN ADVANCE

IKA KAN is now showing on YouTube via AyanfeAdeyinkatv @ayanfeadeyinkatv

Tells a tale of love and toxicity.

When the cat is let out of the bag, things stir up — a loving relationship spirals into enmity.

Bile, witch hunt, assault...

It is just a fierce battle between a rat and a cat.
