The Old City is one of Knoxville’s musical hearts, and on Make Music Day it’s coming alive with free performances all day and into the evening.

Before the Father’s Day game at Covenant Health Park you can catch W. James Taylor and Sammy T + the Sunny D out on the plaza. Then head over to Boyd’s Jig & Reel for a community bluegrass jam, followed by the Marble City Opera and a multi-artist pop-up from Afro Knox and the Good Guy Collective at Pretentious Beer Co. Then finish up at Barley’s for their Fresh Finds showcase, featuring Tom Kellar, Little Things, and Milk Man + the Big Band, and presented by Blank Newspaper.

Find full schedules and plan your route at https://makemusicday.org/knoxville/

Comment the name of the country you are supporting for the World Cup! In spirit of the World Cup, the theme for the Afro Fusion Party 3 is: Jersey Night!

All jerseys are welcome. You don’t have to come in a soccer Jersey.
We are looking forward to seeing some amazing fits!!
There might be a special price for the person who is most on theme 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾

Here’s a throwback to the inception of the Nigerian Student Association on the UTK campus in May 2023.

After months of rigorous engagement with campus administrators behind the scenes, the steering committee handed over to the first-ever Electoral Committee to conduct the election for the maiden set of executives. The steering committee was actively involved from August 2022 to May 2023. The Electoral Committee’s activities culminated in the election of a 5-person executive body that has been coordinating the affairs of the association since then.

As we take a retrospect to the start of this semester, we acknowledge the efforts of everyone who has paved the way for us and appreciate the unwavering support of all Nigerians on the UTK campus!

We wish you all the best with your finals!

Steering Committee members: @akamodamilola, @samuelaffar, @c6_shoes, @babaphemie, @thisfidel, @phdwithfum, @iyanunijesu
