This is our new video: “Waco”. It’s out! Link is in my bio.

It’s an homage to post-apocalyptic movies like “Escape from New York”.

@babewiththepowers styled the whole thing. She flew down to Nashville and an hour after she got off the plane we were in an Airbnb sharpie-ing satanic messages all over those white jump suits for hours.

The cast was all friends putting in hours of work on very cold nights: @cmgelb @thorbobby @the_mosewilson @hannahjuanita_thehardliner @mcxhale @nicholassuttonbell

And of course @sweet.megg the star of the whole thing. Such a joy in my life that we get to work together and make all these projects.

As a kid, your parent or parents throw you your birthday party, they get the cake, they invite the people, they hire the clown. As you get older, you throw your own parties, and all the anxieties your parents had are yours now: "Who will show up? Did we get enough snacks? Why the hell did we get a clown? Everyone is screaming." I had all of those anxieties when I asked a bunch of friends to shlep out to the beach for my birthday, and what happened was an amazing group of people from all parts of my life rallied together to say yes to whatever came and collectively created an unforgettable time that just kept getting better. Excited for this next year with them. And we had plenty of snacks.

I’m beginning to release my original music again. This shot was grabbed by @babewiththepowers while we were shooting the new video for “Waco”.
The first single, I’m going to release is called “Big City Lights” and it will come out January 28th. It is an important song to me as it’s the beginning of my acceptance that I really did need to leave my old life behind. My transition has been slow, years long, but with this release I feel I’m starting to give a bit more of my true self out in my music and accept who I actually am. I’m still not totally sure who that is but the work I’m doing to release this record, design the artwork, make the videos is actually enlightening me on that subject. When I do Sweet Megg I can hide behind an aesthetic. With this music there is no predestined aesthetic, I can decide every detail. That freedom is terrifying. The realization that we can define ourselves completely and do exactly what we want at any given moment is terrifying, nauseating. But persevering through that dread is what creates a fully functioning human. I feel as if only now at 33 am I starting to understand the book that defined my teens and 20s, Nausea. I now understand the dizziness of freedom but I am embracing it and excited to move through it. Existentialism, with the occasional nihilistic moments, a touch of yogic philosophy and a little bit of faith in beauty and love being the most important thing in life, those beliefs will make me who I am.

We’ve began shooting for the first music video from my new album “Christine’s Daughter”. The song is called “Waco” and the video is an apocalyptic world involving satanic cults, crystals, and neon goddesses thought up by the video mastermind @mattvideoshd . We are getting some extra help with styling and art direction from @babewiththepowers.
A lot of new music will be coming out soon from me! The first single drops January 28th!!! Full album is out in April!!
