This week, Deputy Chief Joseph O’Leary, Officer Kevin Carrigan, Officer Nashley Gonzalez, and Officer David Johansson traveled to Burlington, Vermont, to present “Entrepreneurial Policing” at the Legal Issues in Higher Education Conference hosted by the University of Vermont.

At Babson College, we have the unique opportunity to work in an environment surrounded by entrepreneurial excellence, innovative thinking, and a culture that challenges conventional approaches.

Our presentation explored how the principles of entrepreneurship can influence modern policing, encouraging departments to think differently about recruitment and retention, critical incident preparedness, community engagement, and even the sales and marketing strategies that shape an agency’s identity and reputation.

At Babson, entrepreneurship isn’t just something we protect—it’s something we learn from. We’re proud to bring that mindset into policing and share ideas that can help agencies innovate, build stronger relationships, and better serve their communities.

This has become one of our favorite traditions, and we always enjoy spending some quality time with Professor Sinnott and her students before they take on their big presentations.

An evening of creativity, storytelling, and reflection.

Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-nominated playwright and bestselling author Sarah Ruhl joined the Babson community Tuesday for a conversation exploring Melancholy Play and Lessons from My Teachers, sharing insights on longing, transformation, human connection, creativity, mentorship, and the artistic life.

Colors, patterns, and textures - oh my! 😍

Finally got to see the finished band practice room at @babsoncollege with the acoustic sound panels installed over the mural I painted earlier this year. The end result is a fun and funky space filled with color, movement, and texture. The acoustic panels help absorb sound, which makes practicing in the room much kinder to your ears.

This was such a unique project to work on and being able to play with a more abstract approach was a fun challenge! So cool to see it all come together in the end. 🥰

Wellesley College Theatre invites the general public and campus community to FREE performances of Shakespeare's beloved Much Ado About Nothing!

The Actors From The London Stage (AFTLS) present Much Ado About Nothing in a unique actor-driven production, with just 5 actors and minimal tech, featuring Pamela Flanagan, Grace Lilley, Chenise Lynette, Hayden Mampasi, and Alex Phelps.

Much Ado About Nothing is one of Shakespeare's most imaginative and exuberant comedies, contrasting two pairs of lovers in a witty and suspenseful battle of the sexes. Attracted to each other, the maddeningly skeptical Beatrice and Benedick are dead-locked in a lively war of words until their friends hatch a plot to unite them. The mutually devoted Hero and Claudio, on the other hand, all too quickly fall victim to a malicious plot to part them. Near-fatal complications ensue, but with the help of the hilarious Constable Dogberry and his confederates, the lovers are ultimately united.

About AFTLS:
Actors From The London Stage was founded in 1975 at the University of California, Santa Barbara, by Professor Homer “Murph” Swander and the renowned stage & screen actor Sir Patrick Stewart. One of the oldest established touring Shakespeare companies in the world, the AFTLS company ethos and mission is simplicity at its finest. Five actors take the stage, with minimal props and costumes, and direct themselves in a performance of a complete Shakespeare play, with each actor portraying multiple roles. Coming from such prestigious companies as the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre of Great Britain and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, these classically trained actors are equally dedicated to presenting first-rate professional performances, and to working with students to bring Shakespeare’s work alive.

Alongside free public performances, the company of five actors will lead classes and workshops throughout the residency week.
