POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Dog lovers, you NEED to watch Ohh My Dog movie! 🐶❤️🥹

I missed it in theatres when it released in August, but finally watched it on Netflix yesterday… and OH MY DOG, my heart! 😭

Two parallel stories, two kidnappings, two (and 250+) adorable doggos, and SO MANY emotions! Oscar and Momo stole my heart, and of course, I was inspired to draw these two adorable boys!!! Yes, I had to include Momo’s inseparable ball 🎾

And can we take a moment to appreciate that ALL the dogs in this movie are Indie dogs?! 🥹🇮🇳❤️ Seeing our very own Indian dogs take centre stage in such a beautiful story makes me SO proud! Indie dogs deserve all the love, representation and recognition! 🐕✨

This illustration is my little love letter to the movie that reminded me why the bond between humans and dogs is so incredibly special 🐾❤️

Now, @raiamitbabulal sir PLEASE give us sequels! We need the stories of ALL FOUR of Senapati’s babies! ❤️ Oscar and Momo stole our hearts, Noorie appeared for a few seconds at the end, but WHERE IS THE FOURTH PUPPY?! We need to know what happened to all four siblings! And when the sequel comes, I’m watching these babies on the BIG SCREEN! 🥹🍿🐕

If you’ve been avoiding Ohh My Dog because you’re afraid of a tragic pet ending, RELAX, no dogs die in this movie.

Instead, it’s a beautifully wholesome story that leaves you with four quiet truths:

- First, a child’s heart sees what ranked officers completely misses. Appu sees what others can't see, he didn't need a badge to find Momo - just pure love and determination to go home back to his mom with Momo in his hands.

- Second, a dog’s mind and loyalty can put humans to shame. Oscar’s determination to hunt down Prince without knowing how and where to start, proves an animal’s love knows no boundaries. Prince's kindness to Oscar was returned to him in tenfold ultimately saving his very life.

- Third, it delivers a sharp reality check, sometimes the very people sworn to protect us are the ones breaking the law. The very peope who is supposed to support and help us, ends up being the people we can't trust.

- Lastly, God works through ordinary people. Characters like Masterji, Krishna teacher, RTO Sodhi or Prince's friends who stepped up simply because help was needed, asking for nothing in return. It shows grace and help come to us in the most unexpected ways.

The last scene where MOMO still has the ball (IYKYK) and Oscar accepts the biscuits from Prince, has my heart. A movie centered around dogs, taught us so much that humans could never. A reminder that despite all the noise, simple kindness still wins.

'Ohh my dog' on Netflix was a weekend treat for Elsa...she is an emotional girl who watches TV and reacts too. In the beginning she stared at the screen and barked whenever she saw senapati, oscar and momo ! It was fascinating to see her move upclose slowly and steadily as the movie progressed. The entire time after that she was glued to the screen seeing each moment with uttermost attention. The scene with the dogs gathering in front of the hospital was when she stood up and contributed to the unity of them standing there to protest! Elsa rates 4.5 out of 5 for this one! The minus 0.5 is for certain stretches of human presence in scenes which she felt were not required 😅
