Kudi Kudi - Jasbir Jassi | 1999 🎶🔥

A proper ’90s Punjabi classic! Kudi Kudi takes us back to the time when Jasbir Jassi’s voice was everywhere and Punjabi pop had its own unmistakable sound. Released in 1999, it followed the success of Dil Le Gayee Kudi Gujarat Di and became another memorable track from Jassi’s early career. ❤️

Jasbir Jassi @jassijasbir has always had a distinctive style, bringing melody and Punjabi folk influences into his pop songs.

The music for Kudi Kudi was composed by Jaidev Kumar @jaidevkumar_jd , while the lyrics were written by Babbu Singh Maan @babusinghmann a combination that gave the track its own place in that era of Punjabi music.

🎤 Singer: Jasbir Jassi
✍️ Lyrics: Babbu Singh Maan
🎹 Music: Jaidev Kumar
💿 Album: Kudi Kudi
🏷️ Label: Times Music
📅 Year: 1999

Who remembers this one? Still sounds good after all these years. ❤️

For those of you that thought Leeds & Bradford were only the home of Urban Bhangra, here is an album by an 80s Leeds Bhangra band called - LISHKARA GROUP OF LEEDS.

The album name is IK DIL HAI JAAN DO, which released in 1988, on the MULTITONE RECORDS label, and has music by none other @kuljit.bhamra!!

Vocals are by someone called MALKEET, and the lyrics by the legendary @babusinghmann.

Other credits include:

@dhiren_raichura - Bass & Rhythm Guitar
@satpaul_bhamra - Mandolin
David Knowles - Electric Guitar

We all know of ANAJANA GROUP OF BRADFORD & SAAGAR GROUP OF YORKSHIRE from the 80s, but who remembers this band or knows who the members are? Are any of them on Insta? Please tag them in if they are?

Wonder if any other younger Yorkshire artists like @saharamusicuk, @_gurpssahara, @kullysahara, @sukikaila, @pritrayat, @msc420, @surjrdb, @manjmusik, @indysagu @nee2dholi, @davromana, @ams_romana, @billbhatindaiwalia, etc., have any idea??

Or maybe other artists from the 80s like @j46tarromana or @binder_pasla might know more, or @gohilll47 of Multitone 🤔

I know @pipschahalrdb said he hadn’t heard of him last time, and wanted to hear some songs from it, so I’ve added one this time.

And I know @bups_mc knows him, so hopefully he’ll drop some info in the comments section.

If anyone would like to add this album to their personal collection, please message me for the eBay link.

The auctions ends this Sunday 18th October 2026, so good luck with your bids 👍🏽
