Day 7: ACTION 🌍

After 7 days of marathons and 7 days of action, A Week for the World is officially complete. Huge kudos to every runner, walker, volunteer, speaker and participant who joined us for our most amazing year yet! A specific shoutout to anyone who joined for a full marathon, including @jillian_calero, who became the first woman to ever run all 7 marathons during A Week for the World! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

The theme for the final day, “Action,” encapsulates what this event is all about. To combat the hopelessness we may feel in the face of the climate crisis, we must come together, continue to build community, look out for each other and take real action to create a healthy future for everyone 🌲

If you were a part of this year’s event, or wanted to but didn’t get a chance to come out, please take a look back at our speakers from the week and get involved! Also stay tuned for more events from Global Endurance Collective 🦎🌍

See you out there 🌱

We’re so back. First double digit run of 2026. Kudos to all the men, women and non-binary athletes out tackling 30 miles of unsanctioned madness out on NYC streets today. Huge shoutout to @orchardstreetrunners for another year of OSR30. Next year, we’ll be back for the whole thing.

Thanks to @climaterevolutionnj for the shirt 😘

NYC Marathon 2025 - A love letter to New York ❤️
To the city that tests and teaches, humbles and heals, every stride felt like coming home.
•••
This last Sunday, Nov 2nd, marked 4 years since I officially started running. This @nycmarathon was my 5th this year & 15th marathon overall.
The “home race”, always has had a special meaning to me as it was my introduction to the sport of running, that has given me so much.
On Sept 21st, I toed the line of the @berlinmarathon on the hottest race in history, on an injured calf, not having run for 14 days, fresh off a 24h flight ordeal, hoping for a miracle that never came. This race was the first time I sat on the side of the curb for 10+ minutes debating whether I could hobble to the finish line to earn my 4th star. I left Berlin unsure as to what was next.
Sunday, 6 weeks post-Berlin, I ran the most fun race I have ever run in my entire life. New York is home and home is where the heart is. From mile 1 to 26.2, I could not, not smile. Thank you New York, thank you friends, thank you community, thank you family.
You brought me back joy in running and racing which has me beyond excited for what is next.
Body is healthy. Heart is full. Mind is ready to tackle whatever is next.
From a running low point to my happiest. Only marathoning can do that. @on #milestonememory

For my metrics needs, the goal for Sunday was to run the most controlled marathon of my life. As highlighted by my @corosglobal metrics, I stayed in zone 3, below threshold for most of the race, which allowed me to power up the 5th Avenue hill for the first time in all of my NY marathons, and mainly smile the whole way, taking it all in.
The Coros HR monitor is truly the best out there, as it allowed me to stay right at 169 the entire way.
The shape for a much faster time is there, no doubt, but this race was not about a time, rather about having the best time on the world’s toughest course.
Running a 2:52 marathon (6:29 min/mile) & NY PB and finishing healthy and comfortably is a win I do not take for granted and has me beyond excited for winter training and spring racing. Stay tuned.

Best race. Best day. Best city.
