Badger Tree- Amy Lockhart

“Amy Lockhart is known for her laboriously produced surreal paper cut out animations, notably Walk for Walk. In this collection of drawings, she expands upon the humanoid characters & motifs previously invoked in her films Those Shoes and Pondlife. Lockhart’s work in Badger Tree apprise of that one time there was a chthonic conference in the forest. Calling to mind the dynamics & motility of Sally Cruikshank, Christina Ramberg, David Britton, and Friz Freleng among other conscious & unconscious influences from the realms of underground comics, animation, and mail art, the images are funny, monstrous, and kind of hot..”
