What happens when those closest to the work come together to ask, “How can we help?”

Deputy Director Andrea Stasyszen recently met with Lindsay Crim, Senior Advisor and Legislative Affairs with Oklahoma Human Services Child Welfare, along with leaders from Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children and the Oklahoma Assemblies of God Network, to strategically explore ways churches and communities can support child welfare in identified counties across Oklahoma.

The group shared insights from their work and discussed gaps they are currently seeing in local communities—then began looking at practical, tangible ways churches could step in to help strengthen those areas of need.

From supporting families to meeting practical needs and strengthening local connections, churches have a unique opportunity to come alongside the work already happening in their communities.

OFBCI is grateful to bring state agencies and faith-based organizations to the table for conversations that move beyond ideas and toward meaningful, community-level action.

When we listen, collaborate, and work together, we can find new ways to strengthen families and communities across Oklahoma. Stronger together. #CommunityPartnership #GrowingHope #oklahomaofbci #StrongerTogether #HopeInAction

🤝 When churches and Child Welfare come together, communities get stronger.

It was an honor to be in Creek County alongside the local Oklahoma Human Services Child Welfare District Director, meeting with three local churches to learn more about the work of Child Welfare and explore meaningful ways the faith community can come alongside children, families, and local staff.

A special thank you to the Oklahoma Assemblies of God for bringing us together and helping create these important conversations at the local level.

We’re grateful for churches willing to ask, “How can we help?” and for the opportunity to build partnerships that strengthen communities and care for Oklahoma’s children. 💙

What a joy to be in Woodward alongside Oklahoma Assembly of God leadership, 111Project, local pastors, and church representatives alongside with Oklahoma Human Services.

This group listened with open hearts as child welfare leadership and staff shared local county statistics, current needs, and the gaps they are working diligently to address.

What followed was powerful — churches responding with ideas for partnership, ways to strengthen local families, and support for those fostering within the community.

We are incredibly grateful for opportunities like this to highlight the dedicated workforce, compassionate leadership, and the meaningful partnerships that can grow when communities come together with a shared purpose.

Looking forward to seeing the collaborative work these teams will accomplish together to bring hope and support to families in their community.

Did you guess it right? The average teenager consumes about 171 grams of sugar a day and the recommended daily average is 25!

For reference, a grande vanilla frappuccino from Starbucks typically contains about 50-64 grams of sugar. 🤯

So much fun interviewing these pastors and leaders at Next Gen Conference!

What advice and scripture would you give to the next generation?

Had such a great experience at the Next Gen Leader conference. Met so many new people who have a heart for youth and kids ministries and to see faithful leaders rise up!
