Y’all 🥰…. I am still reeling over my bday show, my first solo show(!!!) last month ♎️💕🎻 This was beyond the best birthday gift I’ve ever received. Community, connection, devotion to embodying the artist… This was such a valuable and soul-fulfilling experience that’s truly catapulted my artistry into a new level of drive and creativity.

Many, many, many thanks to @backyardshendig @kcallowaylive @cbrooksgallery for making this event possible.

Thank you everybody for your support and pouring so much love into me on my special day.

Libras are so up rn!!! ♎️💕🥳🕺🏾

Through this show, I was able to connect and collaborate with my family @monicatookesart 🥹🫂💕 The love and creative synergy was flowing all throughout the space. We did an improv activation, riffing off of my song “peace on earth”. Look at what she made in the next slide!!!

Like!! 😍😍😍 and she added my favorite color, pink!! 💕

I must say this is one of the most pleasant surprises I’ve had in a while! So a while back I went to one of the greatest live and raw performances by @kcallowaylive at a @backyardshendig event supporting my cousin @drijackmusic and hopped on the mic for a hot second to honor Miss Grits herself @missjillscott and happen to listen to the album birthed from that night and to my surprise hear voice! The honor it is to even share a space let alone be on your project is mind blowing and humbling!! God is amazing!! I can’t wait to see more what He does through you K.C.!

The Listening Experience🎧🧡

I was real intentional on how I wanted to do a listening experience. I feel as if we don’t, as a younger generation, too much sit and listen fully to an album or full body of musical work in its entirety. (MY OPINION) So, I literally forced everyone in an art gallery, with their own pair of headphones, a journal and made them lock in with themselves and the music😭

Big shout out to Courtney ( @cbrooksart ) for allowing us to invade C Brooks Gallery ( @cbrooksgallery ) ‼️ Go check out their newest exhibit “Photography of Life”📸‼️

The Storm Will Pass x Adam Blackstone ( @adamblackstone )🎶🎷🎺🎹🎶

If you really want to know what gave me the strength to do Backyard Shenanigans ( @backyardshendig ) again this year, it was this song right here! I decided to re-discover a few of my favorite live albums, with Legacy by Adam Blackstone being one I like alot, and it was something about this song that really just stuck to my heart during this entire year…

This year has been moving extremely fast.. faster than my thoughts can keep up with.. Alot of times this year I felt tired, not able to think, alone, and so many other overthinking thoughts and emotional situations, but this song was the one thing that reminded that through what ever battle you’re facing, it is apart of the journey and this too shall past because God gets us through every low moment in our life! So it was only fitting I started the set off with putting God first! Thank you Adam Blackstone ( @adamblackstone ) for creating beautiful and inspiring music that touches the heart🖤

Backyard Shenanigans is a space I created where musicians can flourish under the stars and art has a home🤌🏾If you gotten this far into the caption, I thank you and love you for supporting me🫂🧡If they didn’t get this far, I just hope I at least got a “Like” on the video😭

I have more footage from the Backyard, and it is currently being uploaded to YouTube (just so much going on😭) so go ahead and give Backyard Shenanigans ( @backyardshendig ) a follow!
