well, that’s that. 8 weeks to the day after the crash (7 weeks of delays and 1 solid week of going rounds with the other driver’s insurance co), elsa’s been declared totaled and we’ve finally settled the financials. sadly it just doesn’t make financial sense to have her fixed. way more than just a car, she’s been the catalyst for some amazing adventures, new friendships, random conversations with complete strangers, bloody knuckles, swearing tirades, lattes while waiting on the tow truck, lots of hours with the shop manuals in the apartment parking lot and friends’ driveways, late-night rescues and the object of many many parking-lot look-backs. i bought her and daily-drove her in spite of logic and many ‘are you sure?’s and ‘dude just get a honda’s. total midlife crisis move, and maybe the best thing i’ve ever done. hopefully she’ll be a great donor and keep her classic friends on the road. sad this chapter is closed, but excited about the next one. stay tuned... #elsaridesagain #notanymore #w108 #280se #280se45 #classicmercedes #mercedesclassic #youngtimer #mercedesbenz #effyouallstate

this is what grateful looks like. the word that describes the past 7 days. a rollercoaster week that came out of nowhere, and began with a resurrection of sorts. thankfully, i have an amazing squad that pushed me forward - and picked me up when the rug was yanked out from under me. alas... but it ended with a weekend that is right up there with the best: i’m sunburnt, exhausted, a little harder of hearing and buzzing that i get up close and personal with my nirvana - and do it with my kids. so, universe, thank you. i’m here for all of it. #nohashtagsthisone
