I had a wonderful experience yesterday performing at the @badatsports “Great Art Tailgate” with the Carthage Woodwind Quintet. This included their conclusion to Season 1 of their podcast, which lasted nearly 1000 episodes and 21 years! Episodes 994-999 were performed live at this tailgate event, which was held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.

Notably, @jerrysaltz was the interviewee for the 999th episode, which was held inside the theater at the museum. It was an absolute treat to be able to experience this live and hear his thoughts, advice, and opinions on the Art World today.

A special thanks to @ryanpetermiller and the rest of the Bad at Sports Podcast for having us along for this wonderful event!

It’s a wrap! Episode 999 actually happened at the MCA in Chicago, despite traffic jams and flight delays. One of my favorite moments of the evening was when I gave Jerry Saltz the middle finger from the audience and he returned the favor, a mutual recognition of the art critic’s woes. And then, as every single episode scrolled in the background, we got participation trophies! Mine is never leaving the mantle. @badatsports @jerrysaltz @mcachicago @danabassit @laguna_fantasma @iamyourbike

Yesterday was a good day! Saw this beautiful show at @juliuscaesarchicago. Congratulations to @madeline.jane_ on the curation and to all the artists. And it’s a wrap for the 999th episode and final podcast of Season One of @badatsports with guest @jerrysaltz. Stories were told. And did Duncan McKenzie @iamyourbike make a grand entrance and wear a kilt? Of course he did! So many familiar faces in attendance and it was a great time catching up and being here for this stellar moment. 21 years! Wow. Congrats to entire Bad at Sports team. Nice little after-party hosted by @mleblanc_chicago.

Yesterday, jeez yesterday, I flew to Chicago, or I really tried to fly there. Boarded early in the morning. Long wait at La Guardia. Just as we were about to take off. “Sorry ladies and gent, we have a maintenance issue.” We sat on runway for an hour or so. Then returned to gate and sat. Then we were asked to - de-board the plane.
The airport gate was utter chaos.
I sat next to the desk and just listened.
After a while I discerned that we were to go to another gate.
It was already just over three hours from the time I was to begin my live interview with legendary @badatsports - an amazing podcast celebrating its 999th podcast with … me. At @mcachicago
Anyway I got to Chicago. Got in a taxi. And - boom - bumper to bumper all the li g way in from OHare.
Arrived 45-minutes late to a full house. And gave em my best.

Hey Chicago!!! Bad at Sports is ending Season 1 tomorrow with Episode 999 at the Museum of Contemporary Art. It will be a full day of conversations and yes, I’ve come out of retirement to be on mic! The day will end with a conversation with Jerry Saltz, our favorite art world curmudgeon and provocateur.
