The machinery of capitalism is a well-oiled machine. It runs so smoothly that, unless you slow down to break it apart and examine it, its presence becomes normalized. That’s the unsettling part: we begin to mistake what we’ve adapted to for what is natural. And that’s why art matters. What a beautiful night celebrating beauty on all levels. Thank you to my girl, my SiStar @queenofmakingascene Founder of High Street and @newarkfashionnightout and @newarkvseverybody_ and so much more.

We celebrated under the beautiful roof of the incredible @newarkmuseumart for a night of glam and style. What a great time with so much elegance and fashion in the great city of Newark.

Love to all the honorees and ladies who were celebrated and honored (including myself) with the work we all do within our communities. The women I stood beside stand for purpose and integrity and honor their own voices. To share space and time with women so mighty, is an honor. To perform poetry on stage as the event unfolded was confirmation of more to come.

Last week was so many things, in addition to the heartbreak was some triumphs …. I was elated to plus one a buddy honored at my fantastic medical practice @callenlorde at their annual fundraiser gala at the gorgeous venue @chelseapiersnyc .. any chance to dress up and celebrate life … I’m there !!!!… everything and everyone was top tier !!!!… my Rainbow Tribe showed up and showed out !!!… shout out to my skirt designer @houseofunderwood_ … this sequined mohair with pockets !!!!.. made me Thee” Belle” of the Ball !!!…ALL WARDROBE STYLING BY MOI @NYCALDWELL

Come out this weekend to our Artisan Farmers Market in house where you can harvest your produce fresh from the ground , locally grown by Black and Brown land stewards! Your support helps us keep doing the powerful work we do!

Tomorrow the weather is looking great and we have our farm to table community cooking and wellness program from 10am-12pm with Chef Shantena @chefsj__openpalate who will be showing you what to make from the items in the garden!

You can harvest and pay what you can , donate or , even just harvest and take what you need, we won’t turn anyway away!
