I’m a film baby. I grew up on set and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Because of that I’ve been so blessed with opportunities to work alongside some great friends and talented crew members.

Thanks to becoming a lil grip, I can now say, “I’m not forklift certified, but I can pretty decently drive one.”

The best advice I could give to someone: Work with people you like. These are just a few photos of the fun we had on set this summer. The work wasn’t always easy, but it was always fun.

1. Our last photo with Isaiah before he left to Hawaii

2. Erik showing that the proper technique to lower lights off of a roof includes an incredibly deep squat

3. Josh was the designated water boy. Instead of wearing waders, he fully submerged his rain covers

4. Ron making sure that I lock the tool boxes BEFORE transit…. 🙃

5. Jason was complaining that the Hawaiian shirt I gave him had sleeve that were too long, so I told him to cut them off… it wasn’t until after I took the photo that I told him it was Al’s shirt 😂

6. Penny has worked with all 3 Williams generations (sorry, Penny). She told me that it was the first time she ever wore a Hawaiian shirt on set, so I had to get a photo with her

7. Before we built a proper trailer to transport all 11 grips, we were able to fit all 11 grips on a single 6x6 ATV (no it wasn’t safe, no it didn’t last very long, yes I did get a message from production about it.)

8. Pauly was having a bad day so we gave him a reminder that it could be worse: you could have 11 grips hugging you.

9. My dad and Kee don’t just look alike, but they dress alike too. No relation, no coordination, just two old dudes trying to be comfortable in the sun

10. Josh looking patriotic on the ATV. Photo was taken about 15 seconds before he called over the radio “I don’t know what happened, but my tire just fell off”

Book of Mormon Videos: Season 4 — Grip Chapter
It was such a great time being able to spend last month in familiar places with familiar people. Drew was asked to work with the casting department and I got to help the grips as part of the lighting crew. It was nice to go to set with her everyday and re-experience the place where we met.
It was so fun and the feeling that the spirit was guiding the creation of these videos was also tangible. Don’t miss them when they come out! You’ll want to see how it was when Christ visited the Americas! But if you can’t wait until then, just read the book! And everyone knows the book is always better 😉 @thebookofmormon

Driving to set, trying to mentally prepare for my 4pm call. TGIFraturday tho. This has been a big week, it could have been harder though. A great example of having the right tool for the right job: @egripment_camera_support T-10 telescoping crane. Thanks to @gabrielcmcho and @picturefactory we were able to secure the T-10 and add it to the arsenal of camera movement tools. This bad boy has a whopping 24’ reach and is light enough to pack around without too much hassle. After this show I might have to take Gabe’s idea for an ATV base and fabricate one for us to use on the next one.

Wish us luck tonight… we’re probably gonna need it. 🤘🏽
