The North-South crack has been resurfaced! 🥳🚜

There has been talk for a while to have this crack resurfaced. The Britannia Skateboard Committee secured funding from @britanniacentre to hire R.A.W Sealcoating & Paving Ltd to have this work done this past Monday! See photos of the work being done in the rain by the team at R.A.W in the slideshow (thank you Ryan, Benji and their team at R.A.W for doing it so quickly!)

Thanks for everyone’s patience while Courts has been closed for the new asphalt to cure. Special thanks to @les_ramsay for coordinating to have this work done!

We hope this is more enjoyable for folks skating at Courts.

Reach out to hello@britanniaskateboardcommittee.com for any Qs or if there are any other projects that can be supported at Courts. Public mtgs are the 4th Monday of every month at 7pm.

The crack is getting resurfaced, so it's smooth to skate over!

Please help spread the word that Courts will be closed on Mon, July 27th.

The Britannia Skateboard Committee has engaged R.A.W Seal Coating & Paving to come cut & remove asphalt, excavate, re-grade, compact, and install new asphalt on the North-South crack.

We kindly ask that you refrain from skating at Courts on Mon, July 27 as to avoid the workers and let the asphalt cure. Courts we re-open on Tues, July 28, but please try to avoid skating on the new asphalt patch itself as it continues to cure for the next 2-3 days.

GIGPIT SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT:
We’ve been quietly operating in Vancouver since November and it’s been so nice. We sort of hit the ground running and have been operating in chaos mode (in a good way). The support from our partner venues and all of you has been unreal.

Now we’re taking a big moment to celebrate with a Vancouver launch party! Three real-deal bands/artists and the lineup of your dreams: Devours, Semi, Cistern. May 29th at Green Auto. Please bring your dancing shoes.

Tickets available at the Eventbrite link. Haha jk they’re on gigpit.ca — link in bio. See you there!💜

Sub-zero session before the real cold and snow hits the island. Sooooo stoked on that fakie 5050, halfcab out! Saw this little ledge/hubba situation a couple weeks ago and have been thinking about trying something on it since. Weird roll up option, took some tinkering to figure out what would work on it. Got the roll away just as the first snow flakes started coming. And in a delightful twist of fate, just as my session was starting @badtime.design pulled up on their bike and said “hey, is that a @goodnewsskateshop bedtimes shop deck? I designed that!” It’s such a great graphic! And super dope to meet you. Glad you got to see one of your boards in the wild! #iloveskateboarding #skaterat #goodnews #badtime

❗️📼Really excited to announce our new release - a split cassette with our day 1 ride or die crew @joy_boy_band. Recorded at the Ska and Reggae Society HQ, engineered and produced by the legendary @spiffymcmoonman and with earth shattering cover art by @badtime.design who has also done countless killer posters for us. Super proud of this and hope you like it! Also it contains a Neil Young cover 🤯
