I finally processed all my anger/annoyance that my in-person graduation was 2 years too late due to COVID-19 🙂‍↕️😮‍💨🤣

My snapchat story from the day of my virtual graduation in 2020 🥹 such sweet memories 🥹 (despite the circumstances being far from what I expected after the hardest 4 years of my life lmaoooo 😅)

reoccurring theme of life: embrace uncertainty.

On the morning of my virtual graduation, my mama, in her infinite wisdom, decorated my cap and told me to “embrace uncertainty”. Meticulous plans I had made for my life postgrad were falling through left and right. 😩🙃
2020 was a year full of disappointments & grief.
But she said all that uncertainty was just planting grounds for opportunity. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
As mothers often are 🙄 she was right. 🤭🙂‍↕️
Now as I ruminate on next steps, I’m called to remember this lesson…

Life took me in many directions and I’ve walked a path that feels just for me.
Upon reflection, I’m glad life didn’t give me all the things that I thought I wanted at the tender age of 22… 😬🙃😅🤭😵‍💫🤯
Truly, I thank my parents for their sage advice & prayers (and seeing me through a meltdown or two 🤣)🫶🏽🫶🏽❤️‍🔥

In 2022, we finally got the in-person experience we dreamed of (and I say WE becuz I’d be nowhere without my mama 🫶🏽 she was so sure I was going to graduate she booked the hotel 4 years in advance 🤭)

all that (4 years of strife and 2 years of healing) just to shake this man’s hand 🙃 #Hanlon iykyk

That’s a wrap on Castle of Muskogee Renaissance Faire of 2026!
I promised myself I would go as often as I could this year because Castleton is the place that makes me the happiest. I made it 5/6 weekends. I had such a lovely time and I am sad for the season to end, but look forward to many more years to come. A special shoutout to my favorite band Wolgemut. We made many of their shows at the Edelweiss stage this year and I tried to get as many people as I can to hear their music.
Most importantly thank you to all my friends and family who love to come experience this with me and let me wander. It was especially important to me this year because we got to celebrate the engagement of our sweet Jerakah and Portlyn with so many loved ones.
You can take the bard out of Castleton but you can never take the Castleton out of the bard. I’m casting Globe of Invulnerability, and Protection from Evil and Good and Mage Armor on us all just in case. Until the next one.
