Boat trip, boat memories, boat dreams. 🛶

one million libélulas in 10 days on the Rio Arios is no exaggeration. Constantly cooling our bodies with 90 degree river water & hot bacanora. Cat & nutria tracks line the river bank. Zebra-tailed lizards at lunch. Pair of garzas lead us for 103 miles. Snake swims in the small pool of the slot canyon warmed by the sun. 300 year old willow tree shades us. Paddling is interrupted by black phoebe hunting, flying in circles across the water, interrupted by the biggest fig tree you’ve ever seen, interrupted by deer climbing the canyon wall, interrupted by black hawks and giant pitayas, interrupted by puma eyes. Bookended by heavy monsoon storms, lightening in all directions, and fireflies. Always look in the dark places, you never know what you’ll find. Changed forever by this river and this crew.

Thank you @mydogavery for dreaming of and organizing and making this trip happen. And for all your tireless work to protect these lands and the wildlife that depend on them.

Thank you @latierradeljaguar for all your help to pull this off and your incredible work. Please please check out & support them !! 🐆🤍

Sweet, sweet chaos. Family sessions as they were meant to be.

Bahn family - you are super fun and cute humans that embraced the chaos of how I like to do family sessions. It came out beautiful and I couldn’t thank you more.

I’m getting to know more Salida families and feeling more apart of this town we planted roots in. It feels good🏔❤️
